We decided on only inviting family over for Daisys birthday. Plus the PTV guys and ATL. And Kellin, surprisingly. He insisted on being Daisys godfather; I'm definitely not complaining though.
It all went smoothly leading up to her birthday. Just a couple months before she started walking and talking. She picks up everything like a sponge. Just a day before the party, she called Jack a "fuck boy" because Alex thought it would be funny and that I wouldn't find out. Fortunately on my part, I did. Lets say Alex woke up with me on top of him, hugging his neck with my hands. Tightly.
A few weeks before that, Alex and I started going out. Then he asked me to be his girlfriend; which I accepted. Vic isn't too keen on our relationship but he never wanted me to be happy it seems. He also hasn't gotten over how Daisy refers to Alex as her dad. He missed that opportunity when he left our family.
So after all the custody drama, things are finally starting to fall together in one piece. Daisy has a father (maybe not biological,) We have a roof over our heads; we have someone amazing to care for us in that family-like way. It's piecing together as an amazing puzzle.
I have Vic to thank for all of this. If he wouldn't have created all of those faults during my pregnancy and came clean in the hospital room, I wouldn't have an amazing life right now. I'll make a mental note to literally thank him for screwing up.
Around 4 is when the Party ended; leaving Alex and I to clean and put away Daisys presents. She had received so much, it literally took us two hours for us to put them away. Daisy was even asleep by then.
"Wow" I breathed. I have a one year old daughter. Alex walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "You're the greatest mother I've met, besides my own" he teased and kissed my cheek. "You're the greatest father I've met" nothing but honesty lingered in my voice.
The soft tune of a one direction song played in the background. We found out she calms down when she hears one of their voices. They aren't that bad. Alex says they are great people, since he's met them.
"I know you've never loved the sound of your voice on tape, you never want to know how much you weigh. You still have to squeeze into your jeans but you're perfect to me" Alex sang to me while swaying in the dimly lit room.
This is one of my favorite moments. Just Alex and I enjoying ourselves in peace. The other favorite moment is when Daisy was born.
I wouldn't trade my family for the world.
