"Abigail, I'd like your to meet Bridget. Bridget, this is Abigail Simmons, she's here for the summer with her grandparents."

"Hi, it' so nice to meet you Abigail," Bridget said as she shook my hand. "It'll be nice to have someone new in town for a while. This old place can get kind of boring. By the way, if you haven't noticed already, we don't get too many visitor's around here. We're kind if a quiet town."

"That's good," I said with a laugh, "I like quiet."

I spent almost the entire party going around with Noah and meeting new people. Everybody that I met was so nice and welcoming that I already knew that I was going to love it here.
...
"Well, it's getting kind of late. I really should be going. I had a lot of fun tonight, Noah. Thanks for inviting me to your party when we have only just met."

"Don't mention it. Hey, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out Saturday night; maybe go to a movie or something?"

Oh no, this is just what I was affrade of. If we start dating I could hurt him bad and I don't want to hurt him if I can help it.

"I think that we should just stay friends right now. That would be best for the both of us, considering that we just met and all," I said trying to keep smiling.

He looked like he had just taken a danger to the heart. But he recovered by saying, "Friends; nothing more, but nothing less either."
