Ivory took Bumblebee's advice and talked to Scarab about escaping. That wasn't the easiest thing to do. She kept saying that if she wanted to escape, she had to talk to Bumblebee. So that was what Ivory was doing now.
As she headed up to Bumblebee's room, she ran into Jade. "Hi Ivory!" Said Jade "You're back early!" Jade looked like the typical looking 3-year-old SilkWing, but she had wings. Her scales were a brilliant Jade green color with hints of gold and yellow. Her wings were huge, and they looked like someone had poured a rainbow all over them. She was the exact opposite of Beetle, who looked like a three-year-old HiveWing dragonet except he didn't have wings. His scale color was a lot like their moms coloring and he even had the ink blot scale pattern that she did. He also had antenna while Jade didn't.
"Hey Jade." Replied Ivory "I think I might just finally be draining Scarab of her energy! She didn't have many answers to my questions." In fact, Scarab had been surprisingly empty of information this time. "I'm just heading to Bumblebee's room." "But you don't know how to get to Bumblebee's room." Replied Jade. Shoot, Jade was right! No one in her house knew how to get to Bumblebee's room. They knew where it was, the attic, but they didn't know how to get to it. "Shoot! I totally forgot! How am I supposed to get to her now!" "Why do you want to go to her room anyway?" asked Jade. "She told me to meet her in her room after my meeting with Lady Scarab" explained Ivory.
"Well, I can take you there."
"You can!"
Ivory was shocked! Jade knew how to get to Bumblebee's room! "Bumblebee let you know about this!" "Well, no." Admitted Jade "I was exploring the vents one day and happened to stumble across the vent entryway to her room. She told me to keep it a secret, but I also remember her telling me this morning that you had to get to her room when you came back so I think she wants me to take you there." "Okay, let's go then." Said Ivory. Jade nodded and said, "Follow me."
She led Ivory to the twin's room and climbed onto one of the bookshelves. "There's a vent entrance up here." she said, pointing to a grate at the top of the shelf. She pulled a screwdriver out of one of the books and opened the grate. "Now, follow me and don't get lost. These vents are very confusing." And with that she disappeared inside the vents.
Ivory did what she was told and followed Jade through the twisting maze of passages to what Jade said was the entrance to Bumblebee's room. "Now, go through this and if Bumblebee asks, it wasn't me." Then Jade disappeared back down the tunnels. Ivory stepped into Bumblebee's room and gasped with surprise. There were complex contraptions everywhere! Ivory knew that Bumblebee liked engineering and had made a few creations, but she didn't know that she had made this many!
As she admired the nearest one, a system of security measures, she heard a voice say "You like that one? It took me forever to figure it out, at least we don't have to worry about dragons sneaking in and out anymore." Ivory whirled around and there was Bumblebee, just a few feet away with a grin on her face. "I always hoped that you would come up here. No one else in our family is as interested in the STEAM programs as I am. Even mother." "You built all of these?" Questioned Ivory. "Of course I did." Replied Bumblebee "How do you think you can never sneak out?" Now that Bumblebee mentioned it that made a lot of sense. A security system was the most obvious reason why she could never accomplish her night escapes. "Do mom and dad know about these?" Asked Ivory. "Some of them." Replied Bumblebee "Not all of them. Of course they know about the security system, but they don't know many of my projects. I'll show you around."
There were a lot of machines. One that could tell you how to do a certain dance, a place where you could keep your ice cream cold, a tracker that told where everyone in the house was, a series of animal studies, and a machine that counted how many times a dragon that wasn't Bumblebee was in here. She had a feeling that Bumblebee made that because of Jade. She even found files of how many times Ivory had tried to escape, what everyone in the house was like, and other stuff like that. There were so many interesting experiments and machines that Ivory felt she was in heaven!
At the very back of the attic Ivory found a tunnel and above it read "escape route. Use only in emergency's" Ivory looked back at Bumblebee with a questioning gaze. "Oh, that." Said Bumblebee. She walked over and closed the door to it. "That's my escape route." "Why do you have an escape route in your room?" Asked Ivory. "I'm saving that for an adventure." Replied Bumblebee "But never mind that, I want to know what Lady Scarab said about escaping." "All she said about it was don't get caught and don't be an idiot when doing it." Said Ivory "She told me to talk to you about it." Bumblebee let out a long sigh. "Well, I guess she basically said take you with me." Ivory was confused. "Take me with you? Where?" Bumblebee smiled. "Out of Hybrid of course."
