When Ivory got to the club there was already a lot of dragons there. She spotted her art teacher, Ms Lily, and dance teacher, Ms Aphid, among the crowd. She walked over to the kitchen where she found Mantis's dad. "Hello Treehopper." Treehopper jumped at the sound of her voice. He turned around and saw Ivory. "Oh, hi Ivory!" He said "Come to help out again?" His voice was kind, but tired as well. Ivory nodded.
"Well, the musicians might need some help with the songs. I hear you have a good singing voice. Do you think you could sing the songs?" Ivory froze. She was used to helping out in the kitchen! Then she looked at Treehopper's tired eyes and decided to give it a try. "Okay!" Treehopper let out a sigh of relief "Thank you Ivory." "No problem!" She replied "Anything to help others."
She stepped up to the karaoke platform and took a deep breath. Suddenly her friend Cedar hopped up on the stage with her. "Hey Ivory!" He said "Come dance! The whole gang is here!" She looked past him and, sure enough, all her friends were here. She could see Oak, always the center of attention, Glowworm, a fierce fighter, Azure, shy but extremely loyal, and Maple, Cedars little sister who had a knack for puzzles and games.
"I wish I could join you, but I promised Treehopper that I would sing the songs for tonight. The head singer is sick." Cedar smiled. "Well, we'll all join you then. Hey guys!" All her friends heads turned to look at him "Who wants to help Ivory with tonight's songs?" Azure immediately scrambled onto the stage followed by the rest of her friends. "Ok then!" Said Ivory
They ended up singing for hours and having a lot of fun. Among the crowd of her friends, Ivory found herself shedding her shyness.
When Ivory and Jade got home their father was waiting outside with a frown on his face.
"You guys were supposed to be home hours ago!" "Sorry." Replied Ivory "Treehopper asked me to sing the songs for the club tonight because the clubs singer was out sick." "She was amazing!" Exploded Jade "She did such an amazing job! You should've seen her when she sang!" Ivory felt a little embarrassed "It was a team effort really. My friends helped." Jade nodded "They were really good to! My favorite was this LeafWing festival song." Jade loved that song and Cedar and Oak had done a phenomenal job. "Well, glad you helped out, but it's bedtime." "Okay." Said Ivory. And they went inside. Ivory looked back at the night sky and thought of the next night to come. Tomorrow might be the last time I ever see my town the same way again.
