Chapter Eleven - Emergency Broadcast

After executing Fuse, the Resistance made their way to the new safehouse. Though the mole was gone, morale in the Resistance was at an all time low as Callista took up the responsibility of leading the Resistance. Rourke could see that it was all falling apart. It seemed as though the Resistance was about to collapse and Terra Skavis would remain under Cyclonian control. As days pass, Rourke checks on Callista.

Callista: It's all falling apart, Rourke.

Rourke: There has to be something we can do.

Callista: One of my men was feeding information to the Cyclonians. There's no telling how much damage Fuse inflicted on us.

Rourke: We took care of Fuse.

Callista: That doesn't exactly improve our situation. We lost a lot of people in the attack on the safehouse. And those of us who survived the attack are starting to lose hope.

Rourke: Then we need to show the people that there's still hope.

Callista: And how do you suppose we do that, Rourke?

As Callista asked Rourke this, Rourke looks over the map of Terra Skavis. He knew that any attack on a Cyclonian outpost wouldn't work. He needed something that would not only inspire hope to the people of Terra Skavis, but to show the Cyclonians that the Resistance was still here. As he tried to come up with a plan, he glances over to the radio which was playing a broadcast of Cyclonian propaganda. It was in that moment that Rourke had an idea.

Rourke: What about the Voice Of Terra Skavis?

Callista: You mean the Cyclonian propaganda station?

Rourke: The Voice Of Terra Skavis is played all across the Terra. If we can take control of the station....

Callista: Then we can transmit a broadcast all across Terra Skavis.

Rourke: The Cyclonians have spoken for our Terra long enough. It's time we give the people a voice.

Callista: It's a big risk, but it just might work. All right, Rourke. Let's go.

With that, Rourke and Callista undertook the mission to hijack the Voice Of Terra Skavis Broadcasting Station to broadcast a message to the people of Terra Skavis. Due to low numbers of the Resistance, only Rourke and Callista undertook this assignment, leaving Ryder and Archer to hold down the fort. After a lengthy trip, Rourke and Callista made it to the Voice Of Terra Skavis Broadcasting Station. 

Callista: There is it. The Voice Of Terra Skavis. For too long, they've fed the people lies and propaganda. 

Rourke: Not for long. You got the broadcast ready? 

Callista: Yes. All we need to do is secure the building. 

Rourke: Then let's do this. 

Rourke and Callista then planned their approach. Luckily, the station was lightly guarded. Callista utilized a sniper rifle to take out the Talons patrolling the station. Once the Talons were taken care of, Rourke and Callista made their way to the entrance of the station. Rourke broke down the doors with his Crystal Powered Sledgehammer and attacked two Talons. All hell broke loose and Rourke and Callista fought their way to the broadcasting room. The workers inside were in shock. 

Callista: Leave. Now!

Without hesitation, the workers ran off. Callista and Rourke then gained access to the broadcasting transmitter. They then played Callista's broadcast which was played all across Terra Skavis. 

Callista(Broadcast): I am broadcasting this message to the people of Terra Skavis. My name is Callista and I am a member of the Resistance. We seek to end the Cyclonian occupation of our Terra. We are fighting for our freedom. We are fighting to end the tyranny that grips our Terra. For too long, the Cyclonian occupation force led by Chancellor Kraton has ruled over us with an iron fist. They have seized our property. They have killed our brothers and sisters in their mines, in their camps, in our own homes. They do this because they think they are stronger than us, but they are wrong. They may have the backing of the Cyclonian Empire, but we are driven by the desire for freedom. For a better life. The man who started this fight is dead, but the Resistance still fights for you. The Resistance will not stop until Terra Skavis is free. The Resistance will not stop until we drive these Cyclonian oppressors from our Terra. But we cannot do this alone. We need you. Only together can we drive the Cyclonians from Terra Skavis and finally be free from their tyranny. I am calling on all the people of Terra Skavis to join us in our fight to liberate Terra Skavis from the tyranny of Chancellor Kraton and his Cyclonian masters. We need you. For too long, Terra Skavis has been occupied, enslaved, brutalized and devastated by the tyranny of the Cyclonians. Chancellor Kraton serves only Master Cyclonis. We serve the people of Terra Skavis who long to be free. If you share our vision of a free and prosperous Terra, join us. You are the future of Terra Skavis. You are not animals. You are not property. You are not slaves. You are living beings who deserve to be free! You are the Resistance! For Terra Skavis!

As the broadcast ended, Rourke and Callista began setting charges to the building. As Talons began arriving, Rourke and Callista made their escape and detonated the charges at to prevent the Cyclonians from launching a counter broadcast. In that moment, the Resistance sent a powerful message across Terra Skavis. In that moment, the spark of hope was lit anew.
