I sink onto the couch exhausted. Today's filming took two hours longer than planned. Everyone is scattered around the lounge relaxing. I hold back the urge to frown as I spot Mia sitting on William's lap as he gives her a neck massage.
"You all did great today," Daniel states as he waltzes into the room. "Go home, rest and I will see you tomorrow at six in the morning."
We all nod and begin to make our way out of the lounge one-by-one. I rub the back of my aching neck and make my way toward the elevator. As I am waiting for the doors to open I take out my phone and find two unread messages.
Hey, are you almost out of work?
I smile when I see who they are from and quickly type away on my phone as I enter the elevator.
"Hold the door!"
I hold my hand out before the doors can close and Mia gives me a grateful smile as she steps inside.
"Thank you," she says quietly.
"You aren't going to wait for your boyfriend?" I raise an eyebrow.
"He is going out for drinks tonight," Mia states through a strained smile.
"Hmph," I hum and Mia cocks an eyebrow in a sassy manner.
"Is there something wrong?"
"Oh, no, just a little weird that you aren't accompanying him." I shrug innocently.
She purses her lip and proceeds to turn to me with a frown. "I just value my job and don't want to wake up late."
"Okay," I chuckle. "No need to take your anger out on me."
"I am not angry!" She barks and I raise an eyebrow with an amused smile.
"You sure?"
"Yes," she huffs and turns away with arms crossed and a sadden expression.
Ding! The doors slide open and I am the first to walk out, pretending to care, although my heart yearned to know if she was okay.
"If it isn't Quinn Hathaway?"
"Hey, Gabs." I greet with a wide smile as the brunette throws her arms around me. "I missed you."
Gabriella McKeller is a close friend of mine, at one time we had a fling going on, but of course I had to ruin it and now she is married to another man.
"I missed you too!" Gabby states as we pull away. "I came here as soon as the plan landed. You promised me a good dinner when I got back, remember?"
"Of course, how could I forget." I reply.
"Let's go then." Gabby pulls on my arm and I follow her.
I look back and find that Mia is already gone. I feel my stomach churn with guilt. Should I have asked what was wrong?
"So, how is the film going?" Gabby asks, distracting me from my thoughts.
"It's been going good," I state as I open the door to the passenger seat for her.
I walk around the car and step into the passenger seat. I turn the car on and begin to drive out of Magma Studious.
"And how about your love life?" Gabriella wiggles her eyebrows and I can't help but laugh.
"There is no love life."
"Right. Just the occasional fling or one-night stand." Gabriella states with a knowing look.
"Ouch," I mumble and she giggles.
"It's the truth Quinn." Gabriella shrugs. "When will you finally let someone in?"
"I did once." I confess as I stare at the road ahead. "And ironically I was the one left broken hearted."
"Really?"
Gabriella seems unconvinced by my story. However, the proof of my one-sided undying love hangs around my neck.
I shake the feelings of pain away and then to Gabriella. "How about you? How's your marriage thus far?"
"We are still in the honeymoon face," Gabby gushes.
"Shall I expect a niece or nephew soon?" I raise a teasing brown and Gabby gently nudges me.
"Quinn! No!" She shrieks as her cheeks turn a deep shade of red.
"Kidding," I chuckle at her reddened expression.
The car slowly comes to a stop as I pull at the best restaurant in the city. I open the door for Gabby and we both walk inside.
"Good evening, a table for two?" The host asks and I nod. "Follow me."
Gabriella places her hand around my arm as we follow the host into the restaurant. I stop on my tracks when I find a familiar face.
William is sitting at a table at a far corner of the restaurant, whispering something to the red headed girl next to him. My mouth falls open when he leans down and begins kissing her.
Shit.
Mia's POV
I let out a long sigh as I drop onto the queen-sized bed. I pinch the bridge of my nose in annoyance.
"That girl had to get in the way of my plans." I groan in frustration.
The plan would have gotten me closer to Quinn. I sit up and run my hand over my throbbing temples. I need to get a confession out of him soon or else the mission will be for nothing.
"Hopefully William can pull his side of the plan." I bite my lip nervously, hoping our plan would work.
