Ellie

I couldn't believe what my Uncle revealed to me last night. We both ended up drunk and polishing the bottle of Whiskey off. I couldn't help the tears that escaped my eyes. I was finally happy and now suddenly I was expected to return to a mate who refused to acknowledge me, who refused to even give me a chance. He made judgements without any information based on my experiences. My heart was broken after that, I promised that I would leave and he would never see me again, which is what has happened.

It is not my fault that he defied the Goddess and shamed the pack. My uncle simply held me in his arms and let me cry my little heart out. All I could think about was what would happen with me and Seth? He became my lifeline, he cherished me when I felt unlovable and for my wolf to accept him like she did, well that was a surprise. I explained it to my Uncle who simply nodded his head. He knew I wouldn't lie to him.

I couldn't blame him for revealing the truth to the previous Alpha for a command is virtually impossible to ignore. He had protected me for two years and kept my secret hidden from both his pack and our family. The only reason they came to know my whereabouts was due to the engagement announcement. I don't understand why he didn't order my uncle to reveal my location sooner. Did he think I would return to his pathetic son after he had rejected me years ago?

I shook my head in disgust. My uncle was planning to stay with me for the next couple of days. He agreed that he would go to dinner with my future husband and get to know him. I wasn't nervous because Seth was sweet and charismatic, he had this ability to get along with everyone. He was just likeable. My uncle explained he would stay with me until the summons reached me, he was worried about how they would treat me for I was a lone wolf and he knew that they would use any tactics to intimidate me. According to Uncle they wouldn't like that a wolf was front and centre in the news, they believed that the attention would increase the potential for werewolves to be revealed to the humans. He explained that the increased media attention would be something they disliked and would use this to their advantage.

I was laying in bed, it was a Sunday and normally I would spend my day finishing off my housework and take a stroll around Central Park. Normally Seth would accompany me and then we would have dinner. My life had a routine and I was scared that everything was going to be flipped upside because of the Council of Elders.

There was a repeated knock at my door, it was loud and intimidating. It added to the pain in my head from the excessive drinking between me and my uncle. I groaned as I pushed myself out of the bed, I was wearing one of Seth's simple tees that I had hijacked with some lose shorts. I was stumbling about out of my room, trying to find my footing but the room was spinning. I flung open my door and could see that my Uncle was the same leaning against the spare bedroom. He had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was tussled showing me he had just got out of bed. Both of us were suffering with extreme hangovers.

My uncle brought his finger to his lip. His nostrils were flaring, inhaling the scents that were around us. I knew he was trying to work out who was at my door and I could tell by his forlorn look that there were wolves at my door. He held up his palm, telling me to stay where I was as he made his way to my front door. He was in a fresh pair of joggers and a black top. He peered through the peephole and I heard him curse under his breath. He closed his eyes tightly taking a deep breath and unlocked the door. His stance was protective and he looked as if he was prepared for a fight.

"Good Morning, may I help you?" My Uncle James greeted.

"Good Morning, is this the residence of a Miss Richards?" A dominating male voice echoed through my apartment from the hallway.

"Indeed it is. How may I help you?" My Uncle responded. His tone held no nonsense and I could hear him grit his teeth.

"If it is possible I would like to speak with Miss Richards." The command in his voice was becoming more apparent.
