Really quick- I don't know all the lore surrounding mages and magic so I'm just going to bullshit most of the magic stuff. I will include some elements of irl witch craft as stuff to work off of.

Relationships-

You've known Viktor since you were a Kid. When your family moved to Piltover after escaping some quite hateful people, your family set up a little cafe. With a little money (and magic) they managed to have a pretty successful business, not without your help of course. Your mom not being too kind of the idea of using magic led you to use it in secret, writing runes on random items to help. Which ended up being the reason you met Viktor. He caught you writing runes on the windows of the cafe and after that you two were close, bonding over machinery, magic, and possibly mixing the two. As you grew older you spent less time with him as your parents started to make you work at the cafe more and more. He eventually came to the cafe to talk after 3 years telling you about his plan to make it into Piltover Academy. While you didn't think he'd be able to make it in as he was from the undercity, you still tried your best to help and support him on the way. You may or may not have written runes and put small crystals in his pocket.. but even if you did he appreciated the help. Once he did eventually make it into the academy he started seeing you less, this time it was your turn to wait... Until you finally met up at the cafe, he started making a routine to visit your cafe in the morning and during his lunch break.

Family
As I said in Viktor's relationship Your mother didn't allow you to use magic, or at least not around her. After your family had to flee a near by nation due to magic, she was more keen on keeping it hidden from others out of the family. On the other hand your father didn't care that much when it came to using magic in front of people but it did end up stabbing him in the back. Your grandma was the one who taught you magic and runes behind your mother's back, you still have all the books she has given you about magic under your bed. (if you have siblings they all moved away)

Speaking of bed, you live above your family's cafe but most of the time you are at your small hide out where you have all your magic things.

(The cafe has desserts/pastries from your culture btw, totally not mentioning it cuz I plan on making a segment of Viktor trying out different types of desserts)
