buckle up boys, this is gonna be a long one.

You hadn't asked for this.
Well, maybe you had. Just a little bit.
Ah, yes. Let me start from the beginning.
This is where it all started, and where it all ended. A simple book, really, and a curious demon.
Let me introduce you to the story of my life.
-------------
You slammed your head against the table, feeling hopeless. You had been having a writer's block for the past 2 weeks, and you had to write something.
Despite having the perfect setup; a cup of tea/coffee, your laptop right in front of you ready to write. You really couldn't think of anything.
Sighing, you dejectedly stared at the blank page staring back at you. The cursor flickered over and over again, infinitely making fun of your lack of inspiration.
The blue glow of your laptop screen had kept you awake for hours on end, at it wasn't relenting just because it was three in the morning. Really, you had tried falling asleep, but the thought of the fanfiction you hadn't updated in a month laid heavy on your fragile heart, and you couldn't take laying in your bed idly as your loyal readers begged you for more content. Frankly, it wasn't your fault you couldn't think of anything. It was honestly tiring, being a fanfiction writer, and you had exhausted all your energy and resources.
The bags under yours eyes decorated your tired face and you clicked your laptop off, again finding no water in this well of inspiration in your mind. It had run dry, and you weren't sure what to do. You had tried everything, and despite all that you had failed yourself yet again.
You absentmindedly stared at your tired face in the reflection of your screen, and for a split second you swore your eyes had a red glow to them. You of course, wrote it off as lack of sleep, but still, it had made up your mind to go to bed. Honestly, in this world where sleep is a privilege, you made yourself swear you would never take it for granted. But here you were, avoiding it like the plague. You felt exhausted and energized at the same time, having that 3AM adrenaline rush through you. Standing up, you heard your chair squeak against the hard-wood floor and the real exhaustion hit you like a train. Your eyes felt heavier, and your body begged you to flop in bed and rest. You shut your laptop, and decided to just go to bed considering your tired state also couldn't magically conjure up a story out of thin air.
The pen flowing over the paper had came naturally to you just months ago, but now that it had gotten more serious it turned from a hobby to a chore, and you hadn't realized how quickly the quality of your writing had taken a turn for the worst. Walking to your bedroom you pondered quietly on the idea of discontinuing your book, but had brushed it off. You could write an author's note saying that you wont upload your Alastor x Reader book for a while. The readers would understand, wouldn't they?
Falling into bed, your eyes shut and you yawned silently, not bothering to get under the covers, fell into a deep sleep, where you proceeded to dream about a world far away, where nothing could harm you.
-----------------------------------------------
You awoke for a start, opening your eyes tiredly. You looked around your room, which was still dark considering the blinds were still shut. You blinked, rubbing the crust out of your eyes and argued with yourself about getting out of bed. You finally made the decision to get our of bed early, for the first time in forever, because you really weren't in the mood for experiencing the same insomnia two nights in a row because of your lousy habits of sleeping in.
