Veronica's POV
I've been a quiet few weeks. I haven't been feeling I've been being watched or anything. I haven't heard from or seen my parents. It's honestly starting to concern me. I would've thought they would've come for me by now but I guess now. I just hope they found something else to do with their time or found a new way to get money. Just anything that doesn't involve me.
I'm sitting in Pop's dinner with Betty, Cheryl, and Toni. They've all been talking and I've just been sitting here being quiet. They haven't said anything to me which I appreciate but I wish they would notice me too. Everything was going great, they were talking, I was listening, and I was starting to be happy. Just a little. I heard the bells on the door ring and I looked back. I quickly grabbed Betty's hand when I saw my parents walk in. This is the first time in two weeks that it felt like I couldn't breathe.
"You okay?" She asked as I did my best to hide. I just nodded. She looked back and saw them. "I'll be right back." She got up and walked towards them. I looked at Cheryl and Toni and they looked at me.
"What's happening?" I asked. They both looked over. "Oh, don't make it obvious!"
"She's just talking with them. They're all smiling and having what seems to be like a normal conversation." Toni described. I heard the bell ring again and a few seconds later Betty sat back down again.
"Okay, they're gone. You can stop hiding now." I sat up and looked around just to be sure.
"Can we just go home?" I asked. She nodded.
72 Hours From Now
"Will you just leave me alone?"
"No, I won't. I need you to listen to me."
"I'm not gonna listen to you. You followed me around for three years. I'm not gonna listen to you."
"You need help, Ronnie."
"I don't need help and I don't want it. And I'm not gonna listen to you!"
"But you know I'm right."
"You helped my parents, you helped the people who stalked me! You stalked me. I thought you were my friend. You were the only one I had for a while. You betrayed me."
"But you didn't know that. Come on. We can go back to how we used to be. Best friends."
"No, we can't do that. We can never do that. You hurt me more than anybody else has."
They laughed.
"Then, you leave me no choice,"
"What are you doing? No, don't do that, please."
Present Time
"What are we doing here? We're supposed to be at school." I asked.
"But we're home," she said.
"Yeah, and I'm asking why. I have work that I need to get done. I have essays and projects I need to finish."
"Would you like to go back to school? This is the only day I'm willing to stay home."
"Why are you willing to stay home for just today?" I asked her.
"Because it's Friday, I'm tired, also we planned this."
"Who planned what?"
"Cheryl, Toni, Archie, Jughead, Kevin, and I all planned on just staying home today,"
"You mean skip?"
"Pretty much. So are you gonna join or do you want me to take you to school?" I smiled.
"I'm gonna stay home,"
"Good because they'll be here in just a few minutes,"
We spent the entire playing games, or joking around, or roaming around town. This is the first time I've been excepted into a group like this. I'm just happy to finally be the slightest bit happy. Right now we're sitting in a circle around Cheryl's room. Cheryl and Toni are practically laying on top of each other, the three boys were messing around on the verge of breaking things, and I was laying in Betty's lap and she was playing with my hair. Cheryl was giving us weird looks and smiling. Toni was now trying to get the boys to stop messing around. It was funny listening to her lecture them in the hall.
"Okay, what are you looking at?" Betty asked Cheryl.
"Just you two,"
"Yeah, why?" I asked.
"You two are just really... close," she said.
"And?"
"Closer than what friends normally are."
"Where are you going with this?" Betty asked.
"Are you two dating? Like, relationship dating. Like, me and Toni dating."
"You think we're dating?" I asked.
"Yeah, practically everyone thinks that,"
"No, they don't," Betty said. Just then Toni and the boys walked in. "Toni, do you think me and Veronica are dating?"
"Yes, doesn't everyone think that?"
"See," Cheryl said. Betty and I looked at each other.
"Jug? Kev?"
All the boys nodded.
"What makes you guys think that?" I asked.
"Look at how you two are right now," Jughead said. We both just laugh it off. Although I really wished we were actually together. But that doesn't matter. It won't happen.
Sorry for taking the story a little bit away from what its original plot was I'm just having a little struggle with what to write and how to write it. Anyway hope you enjoyed this filler chapter. Bye Loves!
