More than Jupiter

Chapter 9

(Ranboo POV)

"You're really beautiful, do you know that?"

Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Why did he say that? Tubbo probably thinks he's weird after that.

Tubbo opened his mouth as if he was going to say something, but was interrupted by a knock on Tubbo's bedroom door.

Tubbo walked away to open the door, letting go of Ranboo's hand. He missed Tubbo's warmth almost immediately, but just put his hands to his side.

"What do you want, Lani?"

"Mum said to- woah, you have a face." Her eyes landed on Ranboo. He was a little confused at first, until he realized, Lani had never actually seen his face before. He got a little embarrassed and didn't really know what to say. Thankfully, Tubbo interrupted.

"Just tell me what you want"

Lani looked back at Tubbo.

"Yea, mums getting dinner, text her what you want"

"You could have texted me" he mumbled.

"Why, was I interrupting something between you two?" she said with a smirk.

Ranboo lowered his head as his face heated up, knowing there was no mask to cover up his blush this time.

"Just go away!"

Tubbo closed the door and sighed.

"Sorry, again, about my sister"

"Oh, no it's fine"

They stood there awkwardly for a second, until Tubbo spoke up.

"About what you said"

Jesus, he knew it would come up again, but he was dreading it. Why did he even say anything in the first place? Why couldn't he have kept his thoughts to himself? He decided to play dumb.

"Hm?"

That was so obvious. There's no way Tubbo bought that.

"You know, after we starred at each other. You called me beautiful"

He just said it, didn't even reference it or anything. Tubbo was obviously a lot more comfortable talking about this than Ranboo.

"Wha-...What about it?"

Tubbo looked at him for a second.

"I think you are too. Definitely a lot more beautiful then I am"

Ranboo's eyes widened slightly at the response. He thinks the same? Oh god, he thinks the same.

Ranboo thought since they were just saying stuff at this point, that he could speak his thoughts.

"You think I am? I'm nothing compared to you, I mean, have you seen yourself?"

Tubbo smiled at the compliment  and grabbed Ranboo by the hand.

He loved every interaction he had with Tubbo, no matter how small it was, he got excited every time they held hands. He started walking out of the room and downstairs.

"Where are we going?"

He led him to the front door, then let go of his hand to go random rooms in his house.

"Stay there, I'll only be a sec!" he yelled from the kitchen.

When he came back, he had two water bottles, a blanket, and a backpack. He started shoving the blanket and water bottles inside the bag, then zipped it up with a slight struggle.

"C'mon, I wanna go somewhere"

Tubbo slipped the bag over his shoulder, then once again, reached to hold Ranboo's hand.

He thought it was dumb how easily he would get flustered at any sort of contact with Tubbo, but he couldn't help it.

"Lani, we're going out for a bit!" the shorter male announced.

Tubbo locked the front door and walked with Ranboo for a while, hands interlocked. This was amazing. Ranboo didn't know if he could be happier. They talked and laughed for a while until arriving and their destination.

"A playground?"

"Not the playground specifically, the park as a whole"

Tubbo slipped off his backpack and spread out the blanket. He set the backpack down and fell back onto the blanket. Ranboo then followed as he laid down next to Tubbo.

They talked about many subjects, laughed, and just overall had a great time. It started to get darker and slightly more chilly.

"It is pretty cool, to see you, in person."

"Yea"

"Just- ah. It's- It really is great"

The two laid there in a comfortable silence, watching as the sky faded from a purple and pink ombré to a plain black with white dots everywhere.

Tubbo eventually scooted closer, and wrapped his arms around the other. Ranboo was hesitant as first, but placed his arms and the shorter as well.

It was weird to think that one day before this, he was getting all flustered over Tubbo's play flirting over call, and now the two are cuddling, together.

Whether he wanted to admit it or not, this was almost everything Ranboo has been dreaming about for a while. Almost, everything.

So the two lied there together, cuddling under the night sky without a care in the world.
