(Gion)
My eyes fluttered open. Trying hard not to groan, I rose up from the spot where I was lying on. The princesses were sprawled on the ground all around me, and when my blue orbs flickered to study my surroundings, I realised I wasn't the only one awake. Livio was hunched in the corner of the room, his wary eyes scrutinizing the bare room we were dumped in.
I supposed it was good we had Livio here. He was the only one trained in combat skills.
"Where...are we?" a voice rang out from behind me. I didn't need to look back to know that it was Lena. "I don't know," I replied simply. My sister was on the ground before me, so I crawled towards her. I didn't know whether there were any mechanisms that would activate when we stood up.
I touched her forehead lightly. She seemed relatively fine. "Gion, who was that green-haired guy?" Lena asked softly, her voice muffled. I looked back to see her hugging her knees to her chest, half of her face covered by her legs.
"Anu, the prince of Egypt," Livio answered for me. He moved from his vigilant stance to somewhere closer to Lena, perhaps to give her some comfort in his presence. She nodded in acknowledgement. After a moment's stillness, she began to hum a quiet tune. Although her voice was shaky, I found solace in the melody.
For a few minutes, we sat in silence listening to Lena hum to herself. Su Jung was the first one to stir. She sat up, her panicked eyes darting around, until the memories of - was it yesterday, or still today? - the party came rushing back to her.
"We should call for help," Su Jung took command immediately, fumbling her pockets for a phone I knew wouldn't be with her.
Suddenly, the door which blended superbly with the walls flung open. Lena jumped in surprise, scrambling towards the far end of the room swiftly. Since the door was closest to Livio, he took a defensive bearing.
A familiar voice chuckled darkly. "It's funny how all these time I thought you were invincible, yet here you are, trapped in my warehouse, so secluded that no one would come," Anu said, appearing at the doorway with a wicked smile on his face.
"Oh, what is this?" he questioned as he surveyed the room, "Maybe I gave you too much of a dose." He mumbled some incoherent words as he approached us. His casual attitude while standing told me that there was no mechanism placed in the room. Frowning at the collapsed bodies of other princesses, he flashed a reassuring smile to me, "Don't worry, I won't hurt you just yet."
I noticed his eyes softened as they landed on Princess Neelam. Did she have a connection with him somehow? Was it related to the previous kidnapping of the princesses? Su Jung glared at Anu, clearly seeing his interest in Neelam.
He whipped his head towards Livio, humour in his eyes from watching the bodyguard trained by Italy's royal family defenceless. Anu cocked his head. "You know, I can have some fun with the girls too, if you ever try to attack me with your bare hands."
Livio blanched at the statement. I didn't think Anu would be so despicable, but people hide more than you think sometimes. "You do enjoy hearing yourself talk, don't you?" I drawled out at Anu, trying to put on a face of bravado.
