Scarlet stood outside of the café wringing her hands together. She knew it was a bad idea, but at the same time she was excited. Sure it was unfair to Jordan, but what’s done is done and she couldn’t spend her entire life feeling guilty. Besides, she figured he’d probably moved on by now. After all, they spent one night together, not an eternity.

She saw Kellin walking down the sidewalk, right on time, and damn did he look good.

He sported a black button down shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows, and over it was a gray vest along with a pair of tight denim skinny jeans. His hair was sloppily straightened, just like the day she met him and she could hardly look at look at him without wanting to pounce on top of him right there in public.

“Well hi there,” he beamed, giving a small wave as he approached her.

“Hello there, sir,” she was able to say in a voice much clearer than she thought she would.

It was silent for a beat and then Kellin rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “I suppose I’m supposed to take you on a date.”

“I believe you are correct,” she crossed her arms and cocked her head to the side coyly.

“Onward then!” he placed his hand gently on her lower back and guided her in the direction he’d come from. As they walked, his hand never moved from the spot, but she barely noticed. She was too distracted by how absolutely charming he was being. Especially when she shivered.

“Cold?” he asked.

“More like chilly. Big difference,” She joked. I’ll be alright. And—what are you doing?”

Kellin had stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and removed his vest then began busily unbuttoning his shirt. Scarlet, along with a few girls from across the street, stared in awe as he pulled the garment off, revealing his toned arms and torso which were decorated with tattoos. He stretched dramatically to continue showing off and then handed her the shirt. She clutched it and watched with a dazed expression as he pulled his vest back on and smiled proudly.

She continued to stand, frozen, while analyzing the bits of chest that still showed, as he didn’t bother re-buttoning his vest. He grinned and grabbed the shirt from her, then wrapped it around her shoulders.

“Sorry. I didn’t have a coat. Does this work? Or do I need to make a scarf out of my pants?”

She managed to snap out of her trance and laughed. “Nah, this is great, they seemed to enjoy it too,” she motioned to the drooling girls across the way. He waved at them enthusiastically before snaking his arm around Scarlet’s waist. Though they were far, it was easy to see their faces turn crimson as they scurried away. “Anyways…where are we going?”

“Here!” They’d stopped in front of a nice looking apartment complex and he was already buzzing himself in. Before she knew it he was pulling her up countless flights of stairs. They strode down a maze of halls until finally they stopped in front of a door which was quickly unlocked.

It was a decent sized apartment with a main room furnished with nothing but a large couch. She could see a dining area around the corner of a wall, and there was a hallway that she suspected lead to the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. He’d obviously moved in recently, because boxes full of random items were scattered around all over the place.

“I like it,” she commented while looking around. It had a nice, modern look to it, and frankly, was identical to her dream apartment.

“Thanks. I know it’s a mess right now, but I bought all new furniture today that’ll hopefully get here within the next week or so. I’m pretty stoked to have more than just a couch.”
