Two days later

You woke up early by feeling something wet come in contact with your cheek.
"Alright, I'm up..." you said to Todd, eyes fluttering open. Todd barked cheerfully then tugged on your sleeve in an attempt to pull you off the bed but you pushed him away playfully to which he came back and started to tug again, tail wagging back and forth. You laughed and told him: "Okay Todd, I need to get dressed!"
Getting up from your bed, you went over to the washroom and reached into the shower to turn on the water.

Once you decided that it was warm enough, you discarded of your night clothes and you cleaned up rather quickly so you wouldn't be late. It was surprising to most but if you did something wrong in your job then you still had someone to answer to.

And he definitely wasn't the kindest of people in the Galaxy.

After fishing up, you dried off then brushed out your messy hair and put it into a tight bun.
Then you put on your uniform and you were ready to go to work.

"Alright, bud, you have to stay close to me today." You said while swinging your coat over shoulders and patted your pet on the head then opened the door to your Quarters and set off for the main Command Deck.

You heard a voice call your name from behind you and you immediately know that it was Bailey. He came to yours and Todd's side in the hallway, pushing his glasses back up his nose.

"How are you this morning, Lieutenant?" You inquired and grinned stiffly.
"I'm well. Thank you, General." He answered, bowing his head slightly. "I see you're bringing Todd with you today. I heard what happened a few days ago."
You scoffed as you both turned a corner nearing the Command Deck then dropped your voice to a whisper. "If only that Ginger kept his feline close then it wouldn't have happened. But no, he just has to let Millicent run free on the Steadfast. And Todd doesn't understand that he can't chase her around all the time! He's still young."

The tall brunette sighed. "Well, hopefully, it all gets better. I'll be seeing you, General..." Bailey bowed to you once more as a goodbye as you entered the Command Deck. He went off to take care of his duties and you, yours.

Looking down and noticing that your companion was not by your side but sitting at the entrance of the Deck, you whistled and Todd hesitated to come to you. He was staring intently at something behind you and he was growling lowly as he took careful steps towards you. You noticed how his teeth were slightly bared, even his hackles were raised.

"What's wrong, Todd?" You asked, oblivious that a tall red-headed man was behind you, waiting.

Your face scrunched in confusion and turned your head to the back of you and jumped in surprise, clutching onto your chest and stepping back quickly to be at your canine's side.
General Hux rolled his eyes.

"What do you want, Hux?" You demanded. It was actually more of an order than a question.

"What exactly do you think you're doing, bringing that mutt on my Deck?" Hux took a step closer to you in an attempt at intimidation but stopped in slight fear when Todd did the exact same, making his growling more audible to be an even bigger warning to back off.

"I believe it's my Deck, General. I was appointed before you by Snoke. Long before Supreme Leader Kylo Ren took the throne. I've had more experience than you. So if I decide to bring my dog, or as you call him, mutt, with me then I sure in the hell will and no one will tell me otherwise. Not even you." You spat quickly and Todd became less protecting as he saw that you were coming to your own defense now.

Hux tried hard to control his anger to not snap at you. And you were right.
You had been a part of the First Order for a long time.
Longer than him.
