Spill it open, let it rush to my head

I don't wanna be forward, I don't wanna cut corners

Savor this with everything I have inside of me

Murdoc woke up first, probably because his subconscious knew that he had Stuart over and knew that it would be awkward having him still asleep since Stuart doesn't know anything about his house. But he also felt slightly embarrassed, as when Murdoc woke up, 2D was facing his chest, meaning that he moved an exceptional amount during the night. Of course, people can move without actually waking up, but the chances can be justified. He just didn't know what he would do if Stuart mentioned it when he woke up as well.

He wanted to make some type of breakfast for when he woke up, to make him more comfortable, but he didn't know really what he liked. He thought maybe he could just take him to that coffee shop again. Or... just ask him. That would probably be the better thing to do. He realized that he didn't really know that much about Stuart. Just about his relationship trauma and how that affects him today. But he doesn't really know much about his personality, his thought process. Maybe today he could try and learn that.

But then he suddenly remembered something that Stuart had told him on the bus one time. He talked about how to the way to the train station, he would always get tea from the gas station. He said for a few months it tasted really good, but over time, he just said that it tasted like hot distilled water. Murdoc asked him. "What's your favorite tea?" Somewhat absentmindedly, and 2D answered with, "Anything with fruit, but since that one time I got sick in 6th grade I love peppermint tea as well." So he bought some peppermint tea. He wasn't sick, but with him being upset constantly, it should be somewhat soothing.

He had already planned on having Stuart over for some time now, so the tea box had been sitting on his counter for about a week now. He felt a little happy that he finally got to use it. He didn't know when Stuart would be up if he would be up anytime soon, but he started to boil some water. He could keep it at a simmer until he woke up.

He kind of sat there in his kitchen awkwardly, not really knowing what to do. This reminded him of those high school sleepovers he would occasionally have. He was always the first one up, no matter what, and he would just awkwardly be up, just hanging around until at least someone else woke up. He furrowed his brows, wondering why it felt so weird. He actually felt uncomfortable, in his own house. He sighed, listening to the water bubble lightly.

(-~-)

Stuart opened his eyes slowly, suddenly becoming panicked at the unfamiliar smells and lighting. His mind jumped around, thinking that he was maybe in a hotel, but then he finally sighed when he caught a small scent of Murdoc. Everything that happened the night before did a quick rewind in his head, making his eyes burn. He was so confused, but probably because he slept not that well that night. He got up slowly, not sure if he could leave. It was a weird thought, but it made him nervous not having Murdoc with him to kind of tell him what's alright and what isn't. He left the room slowly, peeking over every corner. He didn't know where he was going, and he didn't know what room was what. But eventually, he heard some type of water, and he saw a small sliver of Murdoc. He sighed in relief, slowly walking towards him.

He didn't know what to say, and so he waved strangely, retracting his arm back a few times before fully waving, stuttering, and making weird small noises before any words actually came out of his mouth. "He- Hi," he managed. Murdoc looked at him, smiling softly. "Good Morning, Stuart! How are you feeling?" He asked genuinely. Stuart thought for a moment, seeming to stand in the middle of the kitchen. He was actually thinking about it, trying not to stutter over his words again.
