Chapter 6

Unravel me

As the days past in the abyss, the trio grew closer. A familial bond forged in fear and the necessity of cooperation to live.

Ajax had grown more violent at times, this is to be expected, as Skirk said. Time spent in the abyss changes people, nothing can hide that fact.

Callista has grown more aware of the changes Ajax is facing in mood and actions. Skirk has noticed the distance growing in Callistas eyes as she looks at him during one of his episodes.

After learning of Callistas past with her family one night, Skirk understands why Cal is fearful of Ajax's' changes.

The three finished another floor, this would mark the 11th. As they progressed, the floors have grown to be more challenging.

They enter the 12th floor. Skirk looks at the two other, silently asking for signal that they're ready.

Getting a confirming nod from the two of them, she reaches out her hand and the trial begins.

The three of them are able to take out the Rifthounds with some conflicts. Ajax obtains a noticeable wound on his arm. This doesn't stop him.

As this stage comes to an end, Callista checks on him. Much to the girls' dismay he pushes Cal away forcefully. Callista just laughs it off in hopes to relieve some stress off of the two.

Skirk sighs and shakes her head as they move on. Reaching out her hand and pausing to look back, receiving a nod from the two.

The trials begins.

This trial takes a violent toll on the trio. As Ajax takes another vicious hit from the Manguu Genki they're trying to take on, Skirk attempts to block another fatal blow to the boy.

Holding off the opponents attack with her sword, she is pushed backwards forcefully to her dismay.

Ajax took the chance to get out of the way, Callista grabbing him and helping him up not taking her eyes off of Skirk.

Ajax, not minding the help from his found-sister, stares in fear at the stand off between their found-older sister and Manguu Genki.

"C'mon Skirk.." Callista whispers barely loud enough for Ajax to catch wind of.

"Please.." Ajax added on.

Skirk yells in frustration and stress of the situation. Trying with everything in her mind and body to push against the opponent.

Skirk loses her footing.

Everything seems to be going in slow motion as she falls backwards, taken victim to Manguu Genkis wrath.
