As Elizabeth woke she could see blue and red lights from her foggy eyes. Through her groggy haze she could see multiple heads above her.
"...." she barely heard the word, it was no more then a mummer, then she heard the same thing more clearly.
"ELIZABETH" she snapped back to reality, remembering everything, hoping that it was all a dream, hoping that her mom was just waking her for school, but it was Jasmine. She felt her heart sink as Jaz helped her to sit up without a single word.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The wind had pick up since she had fallen asleep, a massive storm was rolling in, her hair being toyed around with like grass by the wind. Her raven black hair was in disarray but she didn't care, all she could do was cry into Jaz's shoulder, hoping it would all fade away.
All Jaz could do was sit the and mutter a "it's okay" or "I'm so sorry" every so often.
Soon Liz's tears stopped, it seemed as though all the water in her body had gone with the sobs she had just spilled.
"What am I going to do with out her Jaz?" Liz said quietly, "I don't know if I live without her".
"Listen, I promise I won't leave you behind, you're my best friend," Jaz said lightly.Liz shook her head, as if in confusion, "why?"
"What do you mean?" Jaz asked calmly.
"Why do the bad things happen to me?" She asked her voice shaking, "first my dad, now my mom."
"It's not only you, everyone has lost someone recently to all these attacks".This was true, the mortality rate of the attacks had become high, Jaz had lost her Aunt, Uncle, and cousin to the fatal attacks. But for Liz to now be an orphan, that was too much, the attacks had gone to far.
"What do we do?" Liz questioned, "what do I do?"
Suddenly Jaz started sputtering, her breaths were fast and sharp.
" PARAMEDICS!" Liz screamed with fear.
Before they could take even a step, Jaz faded.
