Chapter One

(Slight sa... sorry for not mentioning it before. I'm hopeless, ik)

Rain dowsed the lands of 'Rainy Mountain' as it usually did. A lone girl stumbled through the downpour, a happy smile on her face.

She had finally received her pay for the month, though it wasn't much, it was enough to make ends meet. She worked so hard every day, and she believed she deserved this pay, or better yet, a vacation.

She'd always lead a rough life, losing her parents, getting kicked out of her aunt and uncle's house because of a single lie told on her by her spiteful cousin.

The memory of that day was shoved so far back into her mind that it became nothing more than a blurry scene.

But even so, whenever she closed her eyes, she still saw glimpses of that nasty grin directed her way, those judging eyes boring into her.

It was a typical story that led to a simple little lie with grave consequences.

There was this appearantly 'too handsome' man that visited the little village called wailing cove, her former home . Admittedly, he was handsome. However, our little protagonist had little to no interest in him whatsoever. But her cousin had all the interest in the world in him. He seemed like the type to take interest in any girl.

During his stay, he seemed to have swooned and bedded half the town's young girls - some older ones as well . He had tried approaching Rosá-and surprisingly rejected her cousin Hanna-, but was sternly shot down with a glare and sharp words.

That is what caused the bad conclusion to this flashback. He had decided that he couldn't take no for an answer and was determined to take what he wanted.

In the middle of their scuffle, her cousin came around the little corner he thought was the best place to attempt rape. Hanna clearly saw that there was no consent.

When she made a racket, Rosá really thought it was out of concern for her, but she should have known better.

Hanna announced to the whole town that she had seen her throw herself at the man-Rosá still didn't know his name- and despite half the town seeing her reject him outright and half the men knowing he bedded their ladies, they all believed. He had probably clouded their judgment with money and honeyed words.

At this point, she just gave up on people and just focused on surviving this rough journey of hers.

As she passed the same shady alleyway she always did on her way home, she heard something.

She was never the type to pay attention to such sounds, seeing as it was an alley-plus she really wanted to get out of the rain- so she almost missed it, but even though she wasn't sure in her mind if she'd heard what she thought, her body seemed to. She found herself walking towards the sound that became more frequent.

Carefully stepping around the corner of the alley, she peeked inside hesitantly.

What she saw broke her heart, a large wolf lay beaten and starved on the hard ground, whimpering and struggling to breathe because of what she knew to be broken ribs.

She loved animals with a passion and seeing one just helplessly laying there beaten till bloodied forced tears to her dead eyes.

Driving back the tears of pity that rushed to her eyes, she went to check on it to see it was still breathing.

She payed no mind to its unusual size as she hauled it onto her back to take it home with her even though she didn't know how she was going to provide for it when she didn't have enough to provide for herself.

"Humanity can be so cruel, can't it?" Rosá asked to no one in particular before a sad sigh left her dry throat. Her pace was slowed by the added wait of the beast, but she didn't mind.

During her trip back to her old shack of a house, the wolf swam in and out of consciousness, and the girl hummed a familiar tune that was seared into her memory.  This tune was somewhat haunting to the wolf.

Meanwhile, past a bundle of caves that lead to a huge waterfall, through a blanket of fog, in the forest of wolves, chaos was grabbing every single being it could. Every time they seemed to cease the problem, it got even worse.

Their king has gone missing, his half cousin was pressing even harder for the throne now that this chaos has broken out.

Smaller packs that have no true loyalty towards their king vied to destroy and rebuild the kingdom to their liking.

Hunters became more intrusive, and the elders were getting upset and restless over the lack of a queen, an heir, and now the missing king.

The pack doctors were running out of medicine to treat those who returned injured.

The king's stand-in, hunters(main fighters) and trackers  were running around like mad chickens without heads trying to keep the chaos to a dull roar.

The king's stand-in  had to be going back and forth between reassuring the elders as well as the other pack members and trying to keep the king's cousin, Julian from doing something awful in an attempt to cease the throne.

The hunters had to be tending to their defences as well as getting the wounded to the pack doctors who already had their hands full treating so many patients with so little helping hands.

The trackers also had their hands full with having to have to be running around out in unfamiliar territory looking for their king.

At one point, the king's stand-in let out an ear splitting howl of anger and frustration.

The hunters had to fall back and get as much help as possible even from those who hadn't healed yet, most of the trackers that were sent out to track down the king came back injured like the hunters who had to defend the pack from outside threats while some came back with dead ended leads.

They were all happy to fight for their kingdom and it's king but they were exhausted and frustrated, to say the least.

They finally gained some sort of control over the situation at one point when smaller packs who were loyal to their king offered help. However, their king was still missing. Almost everyone let out the same howl of despair at the same time.

"What do we do? Please tell us. How can we restore our kingdom and regain our king?!" Some begged aloud while some pleaded in different ways for the same thing.

They just wanted their king back and their kingdom restored, but it did not seem like their moon goddess would be answering their prayers anytime soon.
