Chapter six: Diplomat

(Sirius' POV)

"Poppy or Evans?" I asked, trying to analyze how bad it was this time "Evans, it looks worse than what it is" he replied tiredly, clearly not having enough strength to utter more words than those that were necessary. I used to love the moon, before meeting Remus. My whole family was named after stars, it made sense I was so in love with space and every little detail we could perceive from our insignificant place on this Earth.

We might not share the same 'values' (if you could call that all the atrocious things my bloodline stand by) but we all were crazy about space. Mom used to read us bedtime stories when we were kids, all the characters in them being planets or constellations of some sort. But it was these times where I damned the moon, full moons were the worst and I couldn't help but blame the giant white beauty in the night sky that watched over us constantly.

"That one was close" James giggled, trying to break the tension created by our worry and the encounter with Becca and her friends "She's a nice person, she cares," Remus said, smiling lightly. We heard laughs coming from the hills that led to the castle, it was her. "She doesn't" I muttered "She's as selfish as everyone in her house, you should trust me, I've had plenty of experience with them" "You don't even talk to her, I'm the one who- I'm good to walk now guys, thank you- I'm the one who has spoken to her the most out of the four of us. And did you see her face? I've fainted from the pain I've felt, I'm feeling way better than most times and she still looked worried sick" Moony declared, letting go of our arms to walk by himself.

"I don't like Regulus to hang out with them" I commented, stuffing my hands in my jacket's pockets "Thought you didn't mind what he did with his life" James teased, as if caring for my little brother was a bad thing, though I have to admit I did say I didn't care about him "He's thirteen Prongs, he's easily influenced by people, is all" "I think you underestimate him" Remus spoke once again as we walked out of the woods "Regulus is very smart, clever. If he makes any bad decisions it'll be up to him after all. James do you happen to have a-" before he could finish his sentence, Prongs was handing him a lighter and a cigarette "Thanks mate"

"You know Lily will kill you if she sees you smoking after a full moon," I said, laughing at the thought of Evans' face if she knew, lighting one for me as well "I'd die a happy man Pads" James smiled "We know" we all replied in unison, making us laugh uncontrollably. "She might be an ass but her jacket was awesome," Peter said after we calmed down, almost in a whisper "Yeah sure, I'll give you that," I said, her jacket is the only thing I was willing to accept I liked about her.

Eventually, we arrived back at the castle, heading directly to our dorms where Lily was waiting for us to help heal Remus. "Took you long enough," she said the moment we arrived, having everything set up in James' bed to start. Odd place. "Sorry Lils," Prongs said, sitting beside her to assist in anything she needed. Remus took off his shirt, laying in the bed while Evans examined his cuts. "You've been-" she started, only to be interrupted by her patient "Worse, I know" "Maybe you're getting better Moony," Peter said, smiling briefly "We'll see on this one's birthday," he said, pointing with his foot right at me.
