Chapter 17

...my father is alive.

Without even thinking, I went in the shop and took the necklace in my hands. Then the owner threw me out, because I'm an alien and I have no place here. I called Mon-El immediately and asked him to come.

Mon-El's POV

I was at the D.E.O. and Kayla called me. She is very upset; I don't know what might have happened. I went to the place she told me and she pulled me into an alley.

Me: What happened?

Kayla: We don't have much time. You have to go in that shop and buy the necklace that looks like mine. And don't mention that you're an alien.

She said quickly and pushed me towards the shop. I saw that a lot of people were heading this way as well, so I had to hurry. I went inside, bought the necklace Kayla wanted, along with another one, so that the owner wouldn't suspect anything. When I exited the shop, I gave Kayla the second necklace and she got mad instantly.

Kayla: You can't be that... that... I can't believe you. You had one job to do.

Me: Hey, hey, relax, I was just joking. -I said and gave her the charm.

I was about to kiss her, but she pushed me away.

Kayla: Forget about that for a long time. Now move, because we have to get to the D.E.O.

Me: Will you tell me what's going on?

Kayla: You'll understand in a bit.

She didn't say anything else and we headed straight to the D.E.O.

End of Mon-El's POV

We entered the building and I called everyone into a meeting.

Me: I need you to think of how many times I have helped you. And how many times I stood by you in general...

C: What is going on and you're talking like that? Tell us.

Me: I need everyone's help. I was talking with Nia and found the charm I had once made for my father. You all know that the flower inside is bound to our vital energy and as you can see, the blue flower is still blooming.

B: So that means your father is alive.

Me: Yes! And I need your help in order to find him.

A: Do you have any more information about his location?

Me: No, I have no clue. One hour ago I didn't even know that he's alive.

Mon-El took my hand in his and squeezed it in order to show me that he's with me. Everyone started helping me any way they could. Mon-El, Clark and I headed home. Before we entered, I stopped Mon-El.

M: I'll be by your side no matter what happens.

Me: This is something I need to do with Clark. But, please, don't go.

M: I'll wait here as long as it takes.

I kissed him sweetly and headed inside. Clark had already asked our parents to come to the living room and I told them what happened.

Mom: No matter what happens, we are here for you.

Dad: We will help any way we can.

Me: I love you so much. Nothing will change that, because you are my family.

Then my phone started ringing and it was Alex. She said that she found traces of his location, but she hopes she's wrong. She didn't give me more information through the phone call; she just sent me the address he was spotted on. I told everyone what Alex said and I left. When I arrived at the spot, I saw a man who was acting strangely. I figured out he was selling drugs. I watched him for a long time and then I realized he was my father. I went to him immediately.

Me: Why are you selling drugs? -were the only words I managed to get out.

Bio Dad (Biological Dad): What's your deal kid?

Me: Don't you know who I am?

Bio Dad: Get lost. I have a job to do and I'm not selling to children.

Me: I'm Kayla.

He grabbed his head.

Bio Dad: What are you doing to me? Get out of my head.

Me: I am your daughter. Look.

I said, while I was trying to get my charm out, but I couldn't find it. Then he raised his hand, used the air around me and I was frozen on the spot.

Me: Please, stop. Remember me.

Bio Dad: I don't have a daughter anymore.

He was about to attack, when Mon-El stepped in front of me. My father left and Mon-El turned to me.

Me: We have to go after him.

He grabbed my hand.

M: Let him think for a bit. We have to go to the D.E.O. Alex found more information about him.

Me: He didn't believe me...

I hugged Mon-El tight and he wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my forehead and explained what Alex found.

M: One of the gang leaders, who are in charge of this area, has brainwashed him. That's what he does to all of his goons. He didn't know who you are. They always use aliens with powers this way. I promise that we will find a way and help your father.

He squeezed his arms even more with me in his embrace.

Me: When did she tell you all this?

M: A few minutes ago. That's why it took me so long to come here.

We headed to the D.E.O. and Hank told me that he can make my father remember. Brainy found the location of the gang's hideout and Alex with the D.E.O. soldiers arrested all of them. Hank helped all the aliens that had been brainwashed like my father. Unfortunately, there were a lot. When Hank returned my father's memories, he passed out. They told me that he is okay and his brain just needs time to process this information.

Clark brought the charms. I had left them at my parents' house when I explained the situation. I was sitting by my father's bed and was holding his hand. Everyone else left, because I asked them to give us some privacy. A few hours later, he woke up. He looked at me and stood up.

Bio Dad: Kayla, is it really you? -he said while placing his hands on my cheeks.

Me: Yes. -was the only thing I could say.

He wrapped me in his arms and held me tightly. We were both overcome with emotions and started crying like little kids. Then we sat on the bed and I gave him his charm back.
