Cloudclan's Farewell

Chapter 5

I woke up in Starclan, scared and alone.

"Don't fear, Shiningstar. This is going to happen. Sunscar is afraid for his mate, Dancingwater, whom has come down with Redcough and is to leave. Shadowkit as well is to leave. Shiningstar, take my courage be with you." The strange cat said as she went back to her body. That strange cat was Spotstar, the leader before her.

I woke up seeing Dancingwater coughing by her mate, Sunscar, they were deep in conversation.

"Dancingwater, you can't-"

"Sunscar, I know I have Redcough, but this is best for our kits. I am leaving with Shiningstar, and thats that"

"But-"

"No, Sunscar, I will see you again, you'll see." I saw Dancingwater start crying. She loved him, but she had her mind made up.

I stood up. I led them to the rock. I sat down beside the other leaders. I saw Blizzardwing and Meadowleaf on the rock, had their leaders died? I wonder how much I missed from not being in our real, flooded camp. I looked at the other leaders, they looked at me as if I was to speak.

"Cats of all clans, I, Shiningstar, am leaving with my clan. Any cat who wants to come is free to come. I will be leading us to a new home. If your clan didn't know, you can send a messenger back to camp. I will wait until we have everybody. We leave at sunrise." I called as Blizzardwing interrupted,

"Medicine cats can go back to camp and collect those who want to leave. Then we can continue the gathering." She meowed, as the meds sped off almost the speed of light.

She looked around at the sadden cats, losing friends that they have been friends with for seasons. Kits torn from friends. Mothers losing friends. Fathers torn from loyalty and their mate. Leaders whom have to lead, but who want to go. Then I saw it. Waterclan's cats had come. I saw Shineheart, Lightwing, Blacktail, Shiverear, Mossyfoot, Blossmstripe, Wishwind, Pearlwater, and Spiderdawn. I saw Meadowstar's sadden gaze as she watched her deputy, Copperface, join the leaving cats. I knew how she felt, she was a newly appointed leader.

"Copperface, why are you leaving. The clan needs you..." she trailed off as she looked him, sadden at her old friend.

"I feel that around the gorge is going to be flooded liked Cloudclan's territory." he replied, also sadden.

"Pearlwater too.. " She looked pained as she looked at me.

Then it hit me. They have been friends since they were kits. Grown up together and heading apart at the worst time. The gorge had been flooding. Her clan was leaving. Meadowstar's life was falling apart. I felt bad for her.

Then Airclan's warriors came. Skystream, Shallowshine, Fallentree, Clawedheart, Fernleap, Deathwish, Icypool, Flamesong and her kit, Firekit, and Blueshine. Volestar looked sad at the sight of his cats. He also looked pleased because of the amount that was leaving, it made his clan stronger than Waterclan's. Shadewhisper looked at his leader, Volestar, and stepped out of the way into the leaving group.

"Shadewhisper, don't go. Your all I have left from your mother, Eclipsedsky. Son, don't leave me alone!" He cried out as he sobbed.

"Father, I will see you again. I promise you." He looked at him, his father as he hung his head. At that moment Shiningstar realized that Eclipsedsky was a Darkclan-turned-Airclan cat.
