I watched Pearlwater bowl into Skyleap. I jumped back as she was yowling. It scared the crap outta me. My siblings huddled beside me. We were all scared to death. Clawedfeather, our father, stood over us. Getting scratched and bit by others trying to get to us. Blood was trickling on us. Then, fighting emerged into the clearing. Blood spattered everywhere. Very few cats fought on Skyleap side, thus putting her side at a big disadvantage. I watched Shinningstar fling herself at 4 of the travelling cats. Hot, sticky blood spattered on my face. I looked at my litter-mates Spiritkit and Bearkit. They were clearly terrified. I huddled closer to Spiritkit. Then I realized Bearkit was in the battlefield. I rushed toward Bearkit. Crowpaw intercepted. Hate glowed in his eyes.
"Never again, Midnightpaw, Never again." He caterwauled.
He scooped up Bearkit and sliced his throat open.
"Midnightpaw... Please... Name.... Me... Bearcub...."
Shinningstar appeared bleeding heavily. With heavy eyes she called;
" I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this kit. They have learned the warrior code and given up his life in a disadvantaged battle. Let StarClan receive them as a warrior. He will be known as Bearcub. He is very young and has had his life taken by cruel cats." Shinningstar yowled as the other cats froze and looked at the dead kit.
Then the cats turned to their dying enemies. Shadewhisper, Skystream, Chocolateshadow, Flamesong, Saturnsky, Pumpkinwish, Gravelshard, and Blazingfire were seriously hurt.
Skyleap and Deathwish were dead. When Clawedfeather saw his mate, he freaked out.
"Who killed her. Who. Killed. Her." He yowled.
Crowpaw looked at Deathwish. Then at me. Cloudchaser came and settled down beside me.
"Hey Midnightpaw. I saw what happened to your brother and mother. My brother is Deathwish. He died too." He started awkwardly.
"I am sorry for your lose, Cloudchaser," I said as I sat down beside him. " But my mother was still needed."
He pressed closer to me.
"I wish death didn't exist. Nobody would die. Cats would live forever. Love would be stronger." He purred.
"Cloudchaser. Get. Away. From. Her. Now." Shadewhisper limped into the clearing. "We had a deal. Give me my side of the bargain."
