"I call all cats here to join under the Sparklerock." I called out in a very strong tone.
"Eat your last pieces of fresh-kill, we leave once everybody has eaten." I jumped down from the rock, finding that Finchface was out hunting.
The heaping fresh-kill pile was quickly demolished from all the cats taking 2 or 3 pieces. Then the hunting patrols came back, which made my stomach rumble. My heart started racing when Finchface was limping into our makeshift "camp". I leisurely got up and walked over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a finch, mouse, and a crow and went to sit with Gravelshard.
"Oh hey Shinningstar. You got a lot of fresh-kill, you must be hungry." Gravelshard meowed in his deep voice.
"Well I am expecting kits. Gotta keep them growing."
"Isn't Midnightpaw sooooo pretty. She got a lot of toms mooning over her. Cloudchaser is most likely to be chosen." He purred unexpectedly.
"Oh Gravelshard," I mewed. "Your mooning over a she-cat that isn't even 6 moons."
I finished up my tasty and warm fresh-kill. I walked over to each group of cats asking if they were ready. They all said yes. Dancingwater had recovered from her illness. I wondered how many cats would stay with my clan after the journey.
"Every cat is ready. Gather beside The Great Oak after I do one thing." I shouted loudly.
"Shadowkit you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shadowpaw. Your mentor will be Risingsun. I hope Risingsun will pass down all he knows on to you." Risingsun's eyes grew big as a summoned him forward.
"Risingsun, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You have received some of the best training from Pumpkinstar, and you have shown yourself to be courageous and brave. You will be the mentor of Shadowpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Shadowpaw."
Shadowpaw ran over to Risingsun and they touched noses. Risingsun whispered something to Shadowpaw and his eyes lit up as the cheer went up.
"Shadowpaw! Shadowpaw! Shadowpaw!"
