SIRIUS COULD ONLY blame himself when Lenora Claret didn't board the train on the morning of September First to start her seventh year of school. At first he hoped he had just not seen her through the crowds of eager students but after a week it was clear that Lenora had decided not to return for her final year. When he asked Dorcas what Lenora was doing she wouldn't tell him, but she did look sorry as she stabbed at the chicken pie on her plate. Of course, both Sirius and Lenora knew that it wasn't Sirius' fault that she had finally consumed blood from a human, but he did go out of his way to find out about how she was a vampire - which inevitably bloomed their doomed friendship.

In the end, it was as inevitable for Lenora Claret to one day drink the blood of a human as it was for Sirius Black to have ended up in some type of prison, although no one would've assumed it would be for the crime he had actually committed. His teachers and peers alike would've thought it would be because he tried to put dung bombs in the Queen's bedroom at Buckingham Palace, or for picking the lock to Remus Lupin's flat one too many times and frightening the living daylights out of poor Remus; resulting in him ringing the muggle police on Sirius just so he had to spend a night in a cell, to scare him into leaving him alone (it wouldn't have worked if it actually ever happened, mind).

Nobody from Hogwarts heard from Lenora Claret again for a while - but on her twenty-second birthday, she sent Sirius Black a letter about how she's enjoying the fact she can spend more time with her father.

But of course, Sirius never received it.
