-I saw him hit her repeatedly, she let out cries and tried stopping him.
Tears slipped from my eyes as I grabbed the nearest thing which was a vase. A vase full of flowers I had picked out from the neighbor's garden because he wouldn't ever get them for her. I broke it over him, the glass hitting the back of his head and shattering everywhere.
He stumbled away from her, stumbling back towards me so I moved out of the way.
He stood there wobbly while we both looked at him.
He looked at me, his eyes filled with rage. Then he smirked menacingly. "You think you can take me, boy?" he said then laughed.
"Run!" she screamed out to me, but I shook my head as tears fell from both of our eyes.
"Huh?!" he yelled. "Do you think you can take me?" he yelled as he inched closer to me.
I couldn't back up anymore, my back hit the wall. He balled his fist up, the same way he did with her. His fist collided with my face. I let out a cry of pain and held my hand up to my nose as blood leaked from it.
"I'll give you props, you have some heart. A nine year old thinks he can take his pops? Looks like I've raised you right. Try again in a few years, son."
Rio
I carried the sandwich as I walked to the basement. I opened the basement door carefully, preparing to grab her.She immediately tried running past me and I wrapped my arm around her waist and carried her down, the sandwich still in my other hand.
"Sweetheart, you've been here four days, I know it's hard but please just stop trying to escape. You'll make it easier on us. There's no one around my house for miles and I had a code lock installed."
"W-when?" she asked.
"You were sleeping. I made sure you were sleep when they came. I really hate doing that, I hate keeping you down here. I want to trust you, but you give me no choice." I said.
I sat her sandwich down on the bed. The door was still open, but if she tries to run I'll catch her easily. I saw she didn't eat her breakfast, she hadn't ate anything since she got here which was four days ago. "Isabella you have to eat. It's been four days and you haven't ate anything. It's not good darlin'." I grabbed a trash bag out of the box that was across the room. I dumped the paper plate with the breakfast on it in there, then I began getting the empty water bottles. At least she's staying hydrated.
I had to start giving her paper plates too because she waited by the door and hit me with one.
I let out a sigh once I saw her get off the bed and dart for the stairs. She ran up them and through the door.
I ran up the stairs and saw her at the end of the hall typing in random numbers. She looked behind her and saw me, she let out a cry ran into the living room. I let out a sigh and began walking to the living room. "Isabella, just come back and eat and calm down. I'm not going to hurt you." I walked in the living room and she had one of the small tables that sat by the couch in her hand, standing in front of the window.
I ran over to her and wrapped my arms around her arms from behind. "They aren't going to break," I said.
She cried and dropped the table once my arms were around hers. "Let me go.." she said.
I kissed her temple. "You'll understand eventually, you'll understand why I can't let you go, how much I need you," I said.
"You're crazy." She replied.
