His heart rate quickened as he heard the heavy footsteps get louder and closer. He hid down by the bed, curled up in a ball, arms covering his head.

He squeezed his eyes shut once he heard the footsteps stop, bracing himself for what's to come.

He jumped as he heard the door burst open, hitting against the wall. The footsteps continued, he peaked down at the floor between his legs once he heard the footsteps stop again. He saw his feet.

"Get up, you coward!" The man shouted and grabbed his arm, pulling him up. He pushed him onto his bed. The man drew his belt back, hitting it against the boy's skin.

"You already know what to do." The man said and sat down on the chair in the corner.

Bella
"Hi Bella!" Monica spoke as I walked in the back to grab an apron and wash my hands.

"Hi Monica. Any word from Conner's sister?" I asked.

"No, the police are still searching. I hired someone new, they start tomorrow." She said.

I nodded. "I just hope he's okay, you know?"

She let out a sigh. "Yeah, me too," she mumbled.

I had the late shift today, I got off at ten thirty. I let out a sigh as I walked out of the diner. I have to think of what I'm going to do, what I'll do with all this money. I could maybe go to cosmetology school, I always wanted to do nails. It's fun and you can make money while doing it.

Or I could invest. I kept working at the café because not bringing in any money and spending isn't a good idea even if I did have a lot. I also liked working there. I like the customers, I like Monica. I liked Conner.

Thanks to him I even got this job.

I should really buy a car. Brian, of course took his when he left. He must've sold it. Unless he had it flown all the way where he was traveling.

I shivered and put my hands in my pocket as I left the café. As I was walking I got that odd feeling of being watched, not being alone. I looked around and didn't see anyone.

I just need to get home, being a woman and walking alone at night is playing a dangerous game.

I really needed a car.

I turned the corner and walked another block before having to cross a street. One more block and I was home. It was good that the café wasn't too far from my house. I furrowed my eyebrows as I heard heavy footsteps, like running. I turned, my eyes widening, my breath hitching and my heart thumped out of my chest. Three men were running towards me, all dressed in black with hoods on. It was so dark I couldn't even make out their faces.

I dropped my purse and ran, ran as fast as my non athletic, out of shape legs could take me. My breathing was probably heard from a mile away. My heart was beating so quickly as I ran. I still heard their footsteps, so I knew they were still chasing me.

"Damn, she's kind of fast!" I heard one of them say.

That made my heart drop, because they sounded close. Really close.

Before I could continue my running, I felt hands grab my arms. I struggled to get away, tears slipping from my eyes.

Could I catch a break? Please?

"Please! Please, I'll give you anything you want. I have money! Lot's of it, I have at least a million. You can have it all, just please don't hurt me, please don't!" I shouted out as I never stopped trying to get out of their hold.
