Chapter 38: Secrets and Lies pt. 1

Setting: Nya and Marlo try to rekindle and a familiar face returns home!

Nya texted Marlo asking her if she would like the get some coffee. Marlo was hesitant at first, but decided they should have a talk about what had come to light. Marlo arrived at the Coffee shop and and scanned the area looking for Nya

Nya: "Marlo over here!" she said waving Marlo on

Nya had already ordered Marlo a drink. She hoped that things would be somewhat normal if they talked about everything.

Marlo: "So what's up?"

Nya: "Yeah it's been sometime since we last talked." she said looking down at her drink

Marlo: "Yeah."

Nya tried hard to make conversation with Marlo. She wanted her friend back and missed all the memories they shared.

Nya: "So how have you be-"

Marlo interrupted Nya with the buring question that had been up in the air since the vacation.

Marlo: "Why didn't you tell me about you and Jimmy? When I first told you about him you acted as if you had no idea who he was."

Nya: "I thought it would roll over better I guess."

Marlo: "Well we see how that turned out. The whole time your mystery man was Jimmy." she said rolling her eyes

Nya: "Speaking of mystery men.... who's Jackson?"

Marlo: "I can't tell you." she said sipping her latte

Nya: "Why?"

Marlo: "Just don't worry about it." she said firmly

Nya: "Are you and him a thing? I thought you and Jimmy were back together?" She said confused

Marlo: "We are."

Nya : "Then why is Jackson still around? Does Jimmy know?"

Marlo wanted so badly to just get up and leave but that wouldn't solve anything, so she tried to be as calm as possible with Nya.

Marlo: "Don't worry about Jimmy. Please just mind your business okay?" she said in a stern voice

Nya: "I was just asking."

Marlo: "Well don't worry about it." She said rolling her eyes

Nya: "Okay, okay."

Marlo: "Good."

Nya rapidly changed the subject to avoid any awkward conversation.

Nya: "Oh by the way Alexis is back from Vacay. You already know Ashleigh is gonna spill everything."

Marlo: You can tell Ash that me and you met up and talked but we won't mention me and Jackson got it?"
