I stared at the rose confused. Until the last rose dies.
This had to be from Don, I mean, who else?
I gathered my school book and went back out to the car. When I got in, I gave Don a kiss on the cheek.
"What was that for?" Don wiped his face.
"I saw what you gave me." I smiled brightly.
"And what was that?" He started the car and backed out the driveway.
"The rose?"
Don hesitated before saying, "Oh yeah, the rose. It was nothin'."
"Well it was very sweet."
Minutes passed before we arrived at school. Everyone eyed me as Don pulled up to the front and I got out of his car.
Oh my god, is that Don? No way she's with him. Since when did that happen? I heard people mumble. It didn't bother me, I was flattered.
Don walked around and kissed me full on the lips before saying, "I'll pick you up later."
"Okay." I whispered to him before he got in his car and rode off.
Cathleen ran up to me screaming. "Rose! Oh my gosh! I can't believe what just happened!"
"Alright Cathleen, don't get so juiced up." I laughed as we entered the school.

The dismissal bell rang and Cathleen and I walked to the parking lot to see Don and his friends waiting in the parking lot.
Cathleen hopped into the back next to Nelson and Harry and I sat in the front with Don.
"Hey Nelson." I waved, "Hey Harry."
"Hey Rose." Nelson nodded his head, but Harry just looked away and took another smoke of his cigarette.
I turned around and hooked my seatbelt.
"We're goin' to a party down on West Street, you dig?" Don pulled out the parking lot.
"Sure, you?" I asked Cathleen who was laughing uncontrollably at something Nelson had said.
"Cathleen!" I snapped.
"Huh? Oh yeah, sure." She said still laughing.
"Alright let's go then." Don said while he stopped at a stop sign.
He stopped for more than a second or two and I was about to ask him what he was doing before he leaned in and sloppily smacked his lips to mine. Don grabbed my face and tilted his head before the kiss got deeper.
"Are we going or not?" I heard Harry scoff.
Don pulled away.
"Just got a little side tracked." He smirked.
Harry rolled his eyes and put his cigarette out before tossing it in the road.

We walked into a big townhouse around the corner where the party was.
When we walked in a song called Charmaine by Billy May was playing.
"Wanna dance?" Nelson asked Cathleen, holding out his hand.
