K.C. POV

Cashier - Have a good one.
K - Thanks.

How long was I in the store?

Voice - Hey watch where you're going man!

Footsteps quickly approach and before I could pull my knife a shadow tackles me.

My eyes buck open.

K - Mom? Dad?

Kira - K.C., breakfast!

After brushing my teeth and heading down for breakfast mom, dad, Ernie and Judy address me with a big breakfast plate.

Craig - Good morning bug, here's your plate.

K - Thanks.

I sat down to eat and everyone filled the room with conversation, laughter, and forks scraping away at moms food. My grandparents, Gayle and pops, walked in the house and everyone welcomed them in, dad already preparing plates for them to join us.

Gayle - Why don't we all head out and have a picnic sometime today? Get some fresh air? Maybe play some family games?

Judy - Oohh! Can we play football? I wanna show off my tackling programs. *she said with a conniving smirk on her face*

Kira - Judy no.

Craig - Well why not Kira? It'll do Ernie some good strengthen him up a lil? Give him a taste of real football!!

Ernie - Hey how could you just volunteer my well being like that!?

Pops - I think we can all figure that out once we get there. How about we just think about who's bringing the food? Kira this is amazing. *he says stuffing his face*

Kira - Thanks pops. I think I can whip a little something up for us. Does that sound good to you K.C.?

I wanted to just stay home but I didn't feel safe being by myself just yet.

K - Yea sounds fun...

I finish up my food and wash my plate as they continue conversing. Maybe a shower will do me some good right now.

Darien's Secret Abandoned Building

Darien - Man. I haven't been here since I was 13. I can't believe it's still standing.

Brett - Well that's what happens when no one cares to build something in its place. The area is filled with criminals and homelessness. I wouldn't be surprised if a meth head made their way in here already. Keep your eyes open.

Darien - Last time I was in here I explored this whole place. There was no way for anyone else to enter. The spot we came in through was covered by me and untouched. I doubt anyone found their way in here. We're safe.

Brett - If you say so. Don't come crying to me if you wake up to a phantom standing over you with a boulder.

Darien - Man whatever just get a fire goin. We need to figure out what we're doing today.
