Chapter Four

Saying Goodbye

After the battle on Anaxes & the rescue of Echo on Skako Minor you went up to Hunter while Echo & Rex were off with Anakin Skywalker briefing about their next mission. “Hey, wanted to ask you something… why don’t you have me tag along on any of your missions? I’ve already sat out on two of them.” You ask as Hunter sighs & turns to look at you. “Look, you may think we believe you're ready to fight with us but we're not, I understand that you had trained with Rex & the General, we just don’t wanna risk having anyone fall in battle, like you. We have one more mission & then we're on our own, by then, we’ll start having you tag along & feel like a member of our squad.” Hunter says. “Thank you sergeant.” You thank him as you exit the Marauder to see Rex & Echo returning to the Marauder. “Hey, where are you off too?” Rex asks. “Hunter wants me sitting out on another mission & it sounds like you all are taking the Marauder so it’s best for me to stay here with the General.” You inform Rex & Echo. “Does he know that you trained with me? & the General?” Rex asks as you nod. “He knows he just doesn’t want me to be killed, he said there’s one last mission before we head out?” You ask. “You’re going back with them? Not the best idea Y/N, you're lucky to have not tagged along when we rescued Echo, Crosshair & I got into a deep argument that you wouldn’t have wanna seen. But yes, one last mission.” Rex replies. “Sounds good, & I know the squad has some issues but I know they’ll come around, maybe Crosshair will too. If you don’t mind, can I speak with Echo for a moment? Alone?” You ask as Rex smiles at Echo & walks towards the Marauder while Echo stays with you. “What’s going on?” Echo asks. “It’s just… difficult to see you again, after what happened at the citadel Rex always blamed himself & It’s also difficult looking back at the times we had on Kamino me, you & fives, the best of friends for a long time until we believed you died at the citadel & then Fives eventually died, it haunts me to this day remembering what he said.

Flashback

You, Rex, & General Skywalker were all on a mission to find Fives & help him, you all walked through a cargo area, your’s & Rex’s blasters raised & Anakin's lightsaber lightening the path. “Fives? Fives. We're here, come on out, we wanna talk to you.” Anakin asks. “You sure he’ll talk to us?” You ask. “It’s best to try.” Rex replies. “General Skywalker, thank you, thank you for trusting me. Did you come without troops?” Fives asks as his voice echoes through the area. “We have.” Anakin replies. “Put down your weapons!” Fives orders. “I don’t think so, Fives.” Anakin replies. “Please sir! Please, I’m unarmed.” Fives says as Anakin & you both look at Rex.

Anakin nods & turns off his lightsaber while you & Rex set down your blasters. “Alright, I’m putting my pistols down.” Rex says. “What are we here for Fives?” Anakin asks as you all walk around in pitch darkness. “I need your help.” Fives replies. “I know you do, we know you’re not well, it’s been rough for you these past couple days.” Anakin says. “I’m not crazy! Please, please just… just, hear what I have to say.” Fives orders. “We're here to help you Fives, come with us, let’s take you back to the temple.” Anakin says as a ray shield closes on all of you & Fives steps out from hiding. “I just need you to listen to me, please!” Fives asks of you all. “Well I’m not really sure we have any other choice.” Anakin replies. “I was framed! Because I know the truth! The truth about a plot, a massive deception.” Fives says. “By who?” Rex asks. “Well it’s a sinister plot & it was against the Jedi! I have proof of it! I can prove that everything that I know is true without a shadow of a doubt!” Fives says. “Show me the edvice!” Anakin orders, his hands crossed as you stick behind Rex. “The evidence is… is in here, it’s in here, It’s in all of us! Every clone!” Fives says. “What is it?” Rex asks. “Organic chips built into our genetic code, to make us do whatever someone wants, to kill the Jedi! It’s all in here!” Fives says pointing to his head. “Let’s just get you some help first then we can review everything, you’ll be ok Fives. We can sort this out.” Anakin asks. “No, you don’t believe me!” Fives yells. “Fives! We believe you, we just wanna know what you know & help you, that’s why we're here.” You say. “Fives, we are listening to you, we only want to help.” Rex says. “How do I know you're helping me? How do I know… It won’t be a trap, the chancellor tried to kill me! & I promise you that!” Fives says as you all are surprised. “The Chancellor?” Anakin asks. “He’s in on all of us! He told me in the medical bay.” Fives says. “He told you? When you tried to assassinate him! You have gone too far Fives, the chancellor is incapable of this.” Anakin says. “He is! I swear to you General, you have no idea…” Fives pauses as Coursant troops run in with blasters. “No! No, no, stay back! Get away from me!” Fives says as he grabs one of Rex’s blasters & tries to fire at them but they fire at him first causing Fives to collapse in front of all of you. “Fives! No!” You scream. “Get this rayshield down!” Anakin orders as one of the Coursant guards shoots at the shield making it come down.
