The months go by and our quidditch match against Hufflepuff approaches. We win by a long shot. The party that night is wicked.
I spend most of it in the common room, passing around firewhiskey with the older students. Oliver snuck in around 10 pm, so we're sitting on the loveseat together.
A lot of the younger kids went to bed already, but we're not planning on being done for a while. After midnight, the 7th years all go up to the boys' dormitory so we don't get in trouble. We've still got about half a bottle of firewhiskey.
"Really good game today," Jacob nods, grinning. He's been a lot more enthusiastic about house spirit lately (I think it's his way of coping with not getting assigned Head Boy).
"Yeah, nice job, Laurie," Penelope nudges me.
"Hm?" I ask.
"I think she's too drunk to listen to us," Dougal laughs.
"No way, I'm, like, pretty much sober, almost," I shake my head, feeling like words are just tumbling out of my mouth.
"She's plastered," Oliver grins.
"I'm just a little tired," I shrug.
"Okay," he rolls his eyes.
"What new records have you gotten, Clance?" Patty asks.
"Oh, I have so many-" he starts to ramble on about his music collection.
I nudge Oliver's arm. He looks at me. "What?"
"You have really nice hair," I grin.
"Oh, thanks Laur."
"I think you should dye it."
"What color?"
"I dunno. Maybe red."
"Why?"
"Well, you're a Gryffindor," I say.
"Oh, right."
"Maybe you could do some stripes of gold."
"I think that would be really cool."
"Right!?" I grin.
"Do you want to go to bed?"
I nudge him. "Oliver, you tart!"
"You're so drunk," he grins, trying not to laugh.
"I feel great."
"You won't tomorrow morning."
"Tomorrow's Saturday."
"Oh, well, nevermind then."
"Do you want to go and fly around?"
"There's no way I'm letting you get on a broomstick this drunk."
"I dunno what you're talking about."
"Laurie, I'm not stupid."
I grin. "I think it would be fun."
"I think it would be dangerous."
"I thought you were a Gryffindor."
"Maybe tomorrow night," he smiles and kisses me on the forehead.
"I do kind of want to go to bed."
"I can walk you to your dormitory."
"I'm really hungry."
