Travis

I'm not even going to lie I feel bad for Lay. All that shit that her no good ass boyfriend be putting her through, and she still goes back is just nonsense. When I heard him say that Lay wasn't his girlfriend anymore, and that I could have her. I wanted to break his neck. I could just feel the heartbreak radiating off of Lay.

I was broken out of my thoughts when Chrissy asked us if we wanted to come inside. We were parked in front of the Apple store to get her a new phone, since Armoney broke the last one.

"Uh yeah give me a minute you can go in though." I responded. She got out of the car leaving me and Lay alone. I hopped in the driver seat so we could be side by side.

Her head was against the window and her eyes close. I knew she wasn't asleep, she hates sleeping in the car. I was admiring her and trying to get into her thoughts when her phone started to ring. Her eyes remained closed. But the ringing continued.

I looked at who was calling her, and saw it was Armoney. My blood instantly began boiling. I slipped the phone out of her hands and answered.

"Hello, Lay I know you mad, but you need to meet me somewhere, so we can talk this out.'' He rushed out sounding annoyed.

"Aye, that ain't a good idea, maybe you should just leave her alone-"

"Man don't tell me how to handle my girl, now put her on the phone." he demanded.

"Last time I check she wasn't yours so-" I shot back, before Lay said something that shocked me.

"Give me the phone." She said sternly with no emotion. I reluctantly handed her the phone.

"Armoney, save your breath, I don't care about what you have to say." She hung up and gave me a weak, fake smile, before getting out and heading into the Apple store.

Chrissy

After using most of my emergency money on my new phone we went home. I could tell Lay was hurt but something must be really getting to her. I seen her so hurt, she cries, or get angry, but this time she's just very distant. The whole car ride was filled with uncomfortable silence.

Once Travis pulled into the driveway. Lay hopped out as soon as I stopped the car. I was about to follow her but I thought I tell him bye and thanks for the ride.

"Aye I'll be back." he told me, which surprised me. I nodded my head and went in the house to see a note and the table.

Your father and I decided to leave for the weekend with Matthew and his wife Karen for a couples retreat. It was last minute, be back on Monday. Love Mom.

They aren't never home but it's whatever. I like having the house to my self. Lay was already in her room so I thought not to disturb her. In less than 25 minutes the door bell rang. I was too lazy to get it but whoever it was kept ringing it.

I looked at the time and saw it was a quarter to twelve. 'Who could be at the door at this time.' I thought to my self.

I answered it and saw Travis standing there with two bags. I forgot he said he was coming back. He stepped in the house and I sat back on the couch. I guess he read the note my mom left because he didn't look scared to come in.

I started to close my eyes til I felt something land next to me. It was a bag of sour patches. He must of went to get something to cheer Lay up.

"Ooohhh," I cooed. "Thanks."

"No problem, where Lay at?" He questioned.

"Room." I said as I pointed upstairs to where her room was.
