"Rise and shine! Charlie get ready for school!". "Uhhhhhhhhggg! Okay Mom!" said Charlotte as she heads over to the bathroom.  She looks at herself in the mirror saying "Why must I be so ugly! Maybe those girls were right after all.". Charlotte was a glowing elf, she looked like any other elf but when night approaches all the squiggles and lines across her body and face glow. The glow is a subtle gray, like a full moon on a cloudless night sky. She gets into her uniform heads downstairs, grabs her bag, and a piece of toast. As she enters the doors, Charlotte was feeling very weak and dizzy. And just like everyday the school's queen bee is waiting for her at her locker. " What kind of fashion sense do you have?! You look like you got your clothes out of the trash! HaHa!" laughed Lillian Ivanov. And as expected of a queen bee she has her most trusted workers at her side, Viviane Rich and Rory Gaff. But what hurts Charlotte the most is that Rory is her sister. "You are so right, Lillian!" Viviane and Rory say simultaneously. Charlotte was used to this verbal bullying and so she shrugged it off and got her stuff. The school day seemed to drag on forever. When finally the bell rang Charlotte ran out the door and headed home. But she felt even more dizzy and when the door opened she fainted into her mother's arms. " How wa- OMG! CHARLIE! WAKE UP! LET ME CALL 911!" her mother yelled out of sheer panic.  Charlotte awoke in a hospital but her mother nor the doctor seemed to have noticed. "Will my baby be OK?!" wailed Charlotte's mother. "I'm sorry to tell you the sad news but your daughter has brain cancer. She will only live for 6 months when the last leaf falls signaling the arrival of winter. As the cancer is very fast and she is in stage 2 of the cancer. There is nothing we can do to save her" the doctor said in a calm voice. "TELL ME this isn't TRUE! My baby! My dear Charlotte!" cried her mother as she slumped down on her knees and cried. " C-Cancer. I-I HAVE CANCER!" thought Charlotte.
