Today's story is written by Sher (journeywithsher)

"Andy, you do remember you're the one that invited your family right?"

"You're the better cook," she replied as her arms slowly wrapped around him. "Plus, it's Christmas time and I love your cooking more than mine. We know I'm good but you're better."

"You at least have to help me, setting the table isn't enough."

"We both know if I stay around we'll get nothing done." A smile spread across Roberts' face knowing she was right. She'd probably distract him every chance she got.

Turning to face her he pulled her into his embrace, "Okay, you have a point. Well for now let's stay like this, you, right here in my arms."

Looking up to meet his eyes she spoke, "Can you believe this is what our lives will be like until we're 80 and old? You being a softie at home, wanting to wrap your arms around me every chance you get."

"What can I say, I love my wife...and I did tell you I want to live a long long life and love you every minute of it." His comment was followed by a chaste kiss on her forehead.

The holidays had brought them closer as a couple and after the ups and downs for the past 2 years, they would make valuable use of the time they could be together. This Christmas they had made the goal to focus on love, family, and to show appreciation.

"We could practice our dance routine now, you know. Tia Sandra will for sure be expecting you to after all the drilling these past barbecues."

"Your aunt is definitely persuasive!"

"So?..."

"Ok, we'll practice."

He could see how Andy's face lit up at his confirmation. Watching her dance was one of his favorite things since he saw how much joy it brought her. Dancing was also a family activity for the Alvarez's and it would lighten and turn up the mood.

They made their way across the hall and Andy found the song they had agreed to - 'Vivir Lo Nuestro'.

Robert saw her get in the groove and he knew the music would be taking over her body soon. He wasn't a pro but his skills had improved drastically and he could keep up more with his wife as she moved gallantly across the floor.

For the next 3 mins, nothing else mattered; it was them in a bubble enjoying a shared activity that both brought them peace and bonded them.

Out of breath, Andy managed to let out, "That was..."

"Yeah. I was impressive." Robert countered.

Grabbing a pillow from the couch, she threw it in his direction. "Hey, what was that for?"

"Not giving me credit."

Shaking his head as he chuckled, Robert headed to the refrigerator, "Water?"

Pulling up a stool, Andy took a seat as Robert handed her the water. He turned his attention back to the meal he was preparing as she watched his every movement. She scored big time with Robert and her family already loved him. He seemed to fit in with them and all her fears had quickly disappeared.

"I love this side to us," she spoke, her voice coated with love.

"I love this side too. The holiday has been bringing out the deep love we have for each other. We both do deserve this happiness too."

"You're right." Getting up she announced "I'm going to fix the table...another thing, just reminding you, you promised not to ask them for embarrassing stories when I was little. I have a cred to maintain."
