Chapter 9

Hiccup is writing down some notes in his notebook. He writing about what stood out to him about the side of the video about the Viking runt. That side of the story stood out to him more since he relates to it easily. Astrid is writing about one of the strong and successful characters,the strongest Viking woman, in her notebook.

There actually many characters to choose from in the video But, they are put in two groups. Part of the activity is that after you pick a side you must select one character to write about. Branch also picked an outcast survivalist while Poppy picked the loved Princess. She doodles some pictures under her notes as she works. Branch is lost in his thoughts.

Then Poppy notices her pen had run out of ink from her little cutesy drawings. She turns to her partner and taps his shoulder. Branch snaps out of his thoughts then turns turns his head to her a little annoyed.

"What?", Branch whispers annoyed.

" Can I use one of your pens? Mine ran out and I left the others at home. ", Poppy whispers honestly.

The grey troll looks at the empty pink glitter pen not surprised. He knows how Poppy usually doodles in her notebook when taking notes in preparation. He takes one of her black pens and hands it to her saying nothing.

" Thanks. Your my life saver. ", Poppy whispers happily.

Branch just rolls his eyes dismissing her reponse. He didn't see how he was saving her life. Jack notices that Tooth is looking at him as he finishes writing notes. He can feel her eyes on him so he turns his head to her with an awkward look on his face. Tooth quickly realizes she got caught.

" Everything okay?",Jack asks.

" Oh. I had finished my brain map so...", Tooth says shyly and awkwardly.

Then an minute later Shrek gets everyone's attention after writing some more on his board. There is some information about character poster making in blue marker. Donkey has a big smile on his face which almost all of the students notice.

" The task part of the previous activity you just done. You and your partner will have to have make an character profile poster together about the characters you picked. It must include how you see them,be creative,show the relationship between both your characters and if you want you can create a small backstory. ", Shrek explains.

" And you can use anything you want and have your poster in any style so go crazy! You have no limits!",Donkey says with excitement.

Shrek looks at Donkey. Donkey seemed like he was going to start jumping up and down which wasn't needed. Puss is jumps onto a random learner's desk who seemed to be almost falling asleep.

"That's enough,Donkey. ", Shrek says calmly.

" Wakeup!", Puss yells in the student's ear.

The learner gets an big fright from the cat causing most of the other learners to laugh. Puss is always the one who deals with the sleepy teens by choice. He knows to scare them awake with just his voice. Shrek's class has the least amount for having sleeping teenagers out of the whole school for it.

" As you can see on the board there are different aspects to designing your Character Profile Poster. It must be informative,eye catching,reflect the character or person and be easy to understand. The information can be structured anyway you like but, make sure it is neat. ",Shrek says gesturing to the board.

Poppy starts taking out some extra supplies including Glitter. Branch's eyes widen at her supplies immediately knowing how her side of their poster is going to go down. His eyes widen more when she brings out some more glitter then shows him the two bottles.

" What you think Silver and Gold or Rainbow?", Poppy asks in a whisper.

" Neither. ", Branch replies blankly in a whisper.

" Aww... come on,Branch. You know what I'll go with Rainbow mixed glitter. ", Poppy says teasingly softly.

' Why did you even ask me if ya just going to do that?',Branch thought in disbelief.

Soon Shrek is done explaining the lesson and gives the learners big poster paper or in the trolls's case,a tiny piece of cut up poster paper. He had also given them freedom of taking needed supplies from the crafts corner.

Hiccup gets started on his side of his and Astrid's poster. He draws an a exact picture of his chosen character in pencil paying no mind to Astrid. Astrid watches Hiccup draw and notices how good and easily he draws his character. She also notices that he picked the Viking runt,the opposite of her choosen character. The teenage girl then decides to work on her character profile assuming that Hiccup must had picked randomly. Astrid picks up her pen as she wonders how she should do her side of the poster.

In the row behind Hiccup and Astrid Jack begins by drawing information blocks in different places on his section. His chosen character is a Winter character so he is going involve Winter elements. Tooth starts off by writing her character's name in big fancy writing at the top on her side. She had picked a Fairy that can magically use white pearls to decorate anything. The pearls reminded Tooth of pearly white teeth so it makes sense why she picked the Fairy.

Ten minutes later the school bell rings loudly. Immediately every learner had stopped working as Shrek talks to them. They all feel ready to leave as they start packing away their stuff.

" Make sure your names are signed at the back of your posters.", Shrek says calmly.

Hald of the classroom is already going to his desk to put their projects on it. Most of the other half are leaving not caring. Hiccup picks up the poster but,Astrid takes it from him nicely when they are both standing. She quickly walks all the way to Shrek's desk and puts it down. Hiccup just watched her do so awkwardly for a moment before deciding to leave after she was gone without saying a word to him. Astrid moves fast.

When Hiccup leaves the Shrek's classroom he sees Jack waiting for him. Tooth had walked away with Astrid. Jack smiles at Hiccup mischievously. Jack knew about Hiccup's crush on Astrid.

" So you actually said something to her today?",Jack asks.

" Yes but, she wasn't really interested in talking to me much...", Hiccup admits.

" Then maybe next time speak up faster. ", Jack suggested.

The shorter boy bits his lower lip. To him it is easier said than done when it comes to talking to his crush. Then Hiccup and Jack hear Branch scream in Shrek's class followed by Poppy's voice apologizing sincerely for spilling glitter on him. Branch walks out the class with multi coloured glitter on his face and in his hair. Jack does his best not laugh as Branch marches out to them.

" I hate Glitter! ", Branch says unhappily.

Hiccup offers Branch his hand to jump on as he tries to wipe the glitter off with his hands. Branch jumps on and is brought up to Jack and Hiccup's view as he tries to get the glitter out of his hair. Most of the glitter on his face is gone.

" Wanna talk about it?", Jack jokes.

" Not in the mood. ", Branch says unhappily and annoyed.
