11 years ago (Third Person POV)

A warm summer night. The cityscape stretches in front of her field of vision like a giant, glowy tapestry. Her vison blurs as she watches the lights glimmering on stately waters. The chaotic buzz of the road behind her dulls in comparison to the sounds of the crash still ringing in her ears - the memory still fresh like an open, gaping wound.

She looks up at sky - dark with almost no stars.

"If you wish for something in three seconds after looking at a shooting star, your wish would come true." This was what Phi Muk had told her - patting her little head, years ago.

She sighs, desperately wishing to turn back time - holding on to dear life with every last bit of strength she had. A glitter of uncertain hope streaks across the sky, faint but like Phi Muk says - hope is always found by those who seek it.

This was where it all ended. And life goes on like nothing ever happened.

"3, 2, 1...Make a wish, Ubon," she tells herself as she closes her eyes. "Let me..."

Her voice dies down. "As if what I want would come true."

"To anybody up there - if you're real, then make this suffering end."

She draws in a deep breath.

"GIVE ME ONE REASON TO KEEP LIVING AND I WILL! IF YOU DARE - GIVE ME A FUCKING REASON TO LIVE, OR TAKE ME AWAY TO HELL - RIGHT NOW!" she screams, leaning on the railing of the bridge looking to the dark waters.

"Even if you don't, I'll do it myself," she mutters, "You like my cringe-show? You enjoy watching people like this?" She kicks the railing.

She continues to stand with her heavily bandaged leg and head, her clothes billowing in the air around her frail body, the small backpack heavy on her shoulders. Her lips dry and her eyes - moist.

"I figured," she lets out a dry laugh.

She takes out the bottle of pills she stole from her doctor's office while running away from her hospital and takes out three. And then empties half the bottle into the lid.

"This should do the trick," she takes out her water bottle and, as she is about to shove the pills into her mouth, a small form clad in black bumps into her, making both the pills and water slip from her hands, the water splashing onto her bandaged foot.

"Fu***ng moron," she says, annoyed. The bottle of pills broke, and the water bottle is rolling on the road. She turns to see the person who dashed past.

Its actually a kid, covered from head to toe in black, wearing a mask covering her face. She runs across the road with a large backpack which is clearly too big and heavy for her to handle.

Her senses are on alert. No!!

"Hoii Nong!!"

She dashes to hold back the little person from hurting herself as a large car whizzes by, with them getting hit from the corner. She continues to hold her - shielding her from harm until they were safe.

Only to get gruffly shaken away.

"Are you okay, nong?" She asks with her foot throbbing in pain, and now her back hurts too.

"I'm fine." A defiant stare.

The little girl clutches her arm.

"You're not okay. Be careful on the road."

She nods and walks away clutching her limp arm.

Oh no.

She runs to keep up with her.
