Hope's P.O.V

The next morning, I woke up in an empty bed as I sat up straight, looking around wondering where Roman was. I got up, wrapping the sheet around me as I walked out of the room and looked over the banister to the front door as I heard the door unlock and creaking open.

"Invisique!" I whispered as I went invisible.

The door soon opened and Roman walked through the door as I turned the invisibility shield off, breathing a sigh of relief while Roman freaked out.

"Why would you be invisible?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't you leave a note?" I asked.

"I just went to get breakfast." He said. "I'm sorry."

I sighed. "It's okay. I just feel a little sick today. It's probably just a stomach bug."

"Do you want me to go back out again and get you some tums?" Roman asked.

"No, I'm fine. I'll just sleep it off." I smiled, retreating back into the bedroom.

I grabbed a pair of new underwear, sweatpants and one of Roman's shirts as I headed to the bathroom to take a shower.

Turning on the shower to a warm temperature, I stepped in and let the water wash over me while I started to wash my hair and body.

Once I was done, I stepped out with the towel wrapped around me as I dried myself and started dressing in my comfy clothes.

Walking out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, I crawled into bed and laid down on the soft sheets as I drifted off to sleep.

Once I was in a deep sleep, I entered the dream world. It was gloomy and foggy. I was confused as to where I was while walking around cautiously soon stumbling upon Roman in my dream, noticing there was blood all around him with a huge wooden stake in his heart. I let out a loud cry, falling to my knees as I touched Roman's cold, grey face with shaking hands. I then looked around me as I noticed a baby sitting on the ground with blood smeared across it's face. I screamed in horror, soon passing out.

I jolted awake, breathing heavily as my eyes darted upwards seeing Roman putting a damp washcloth on my forehead.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You were screaming in your sleep and you are burning a really high fever." Roman said.

I sighed, rubbing the sweat from my eyes. "I'm fine, babe."

"Apparently not." He said, noticing my appearance. "You are really pale."

"I don't feel good, to be honest." I admitted.

"Baby." Roman whispered, stroking my cheek with his thumb.

"I'm afraid." I whispered, tears welling in my eyes.

"It's okay. I'm here. As they say, till death do us part."

I snorted. "I don't think that applies to us."

Roman wrapped his arms around me while I fell asleep in his arms.

Roman's P.O.V

The next couple days were the worst for Hope. I watched her deteriorate before my eyes. She was losing weight and had a gaunt appearance.

She couldn't keep anything down and I was very worried for her. What was causing her to be so sick?

I decided to go to the Salvatore boarding school and research what I could do to make her feel better.

Rummaging through all of the books in the library, I sighed in exasperation as I slammed one of the books shut.

"Hey." I heard Lizzie say. "You okay?"

I looked at her with a grim look on my face. "No. Hope is really sick and I don't know how to help her."

"Well, it's probably a cold." She suggested.

"It's not though. She's been sick for a couple of weeks now and it's getting worse."

Lizzie's eyes widened as her mouth fell open. "I think I might know what happened."
