Damon's P.O.V

Alaric stood up, groaning. "I'm getting too old for this."

I snorted and smirked.

"So, what problem do we have?" He asked.

My face fell. I was internally wrestling with myself about what to do, or what Klaus wanted me to do.

"I need to kill Hope, for her blood." I grimaced.

"What?!" Ric asked, incredulous. "Damon! What the hell did you get into?"

"Klaus promised me that once I got the deal done, he would kill me so that I would be with Katherine forever." I said.

Ric rolled his eyes. "Damon! You are married to Elena! Why are you still obsessed with Katherine?!"

"Because she was my first love, Ric!" I yelled. "You can never truly get over your first love."

"I did." He said, referring to his marriage to Jo.

"Well, humans are different than vampires."

Ric sighed, shaking his head. "So, what are we gonna do?"

"All of you need to keep Hope far away from me." I said.

"What are we gonna do with him?" Ric asked, pointing to Roman.

"I'll deal with him." I said.

"Hope is gonna be devastated."

"She'll get over it." I said.

Ric sighed as he left me alone to deal with the body of Roman. A tear ran down my cheek while looking at his body.

"Screw it." I muttered as I bit my wrist and held it to Roman's mouth.

Suddenly Roman's eyes shot open as he gasped.

"Damon! What the hell?"

"I had to kill you to make it look real." I said.

"What?!" Roman asked.

"Being sired to Klaus does have its loopholes." I smirked. "Now, get out of here. Take Hope and get far away from Mystic Falls as possible."

"What about you?" He asked.

"Since I'm still sired to Klaus, I'll still come after you guys but I'll throw him off your scent."

Roman nodded. "Thank you."

"Now, go!" I said as Roman vamp sped off.

Sighing, I took out my phone and dialed the number.

"They left." I said. "There was nothing I could do."

Silence was what I heard until I heard the click of the phone being hung up.

"Good riddance." I said, crushing the phone in my hand.

Roman's P.O.V

I walked into the house as I heard commotion in the kitchen.

"He's never gonna have my baby." I heard Hope said.

"What does he even want with Sage?" Lizzie asked.

"Doppelgänger blood." Alaric said. "He needs Hope's blood to complete the hybrids."

"Oh my god!" Hope gasped as her attention turned to me.

"Roman! I thought you were dead!" Alaric said.

"Damon revived me. We need to leave. Get far away from Mystic Falls." I said.

"I'm not leaving." Hope said. "I'm tired of running from my father. I will face him head on."

"I can conjure up a spell to keep you and Sage safe." Lizzie said.

"No, it's too risky. You're thirty weeks pregnant!" I said. "I'm not gonna lose you two."

"Roman, I'm a Tribrid. I'll be fine." Hope said.

Suddenly, I heard my phone as I answered it.

"Did you guys leave yet?" I heard Damon ask.

"Damon, we aren't leaving." I said.

"You guys are idiots! I won't be able to not kill you guys! I'm sired, remember?" Damon yelled into the phone.

Hope then took the phone from me. "I know my father! You being sired is only temporary. You might not even be sired anymore."

"I can't take that risk!" Damon said.

"Fine. Then we will fight." I snarled.

"Then it will be your funeral." Damon said as he hung up.

Over the next few months, we were trying to lay low and just waiting for when Klaus would strike. Hope was not doing okay with all the stress and the pregnancy.

While I was working out in the woods one morning, my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked, breathlessly.

"Roman!" I heard Lizzie shriek.

I had to pull the phone away from my ear to not go deaf.

"What is it?"

"Hope is in labor!" She said. "Your baby is coming!"
