For The Loss Of A Friend

It's a brand new morning. The final day of this story, I think. The whole group silently got ready.
The morning was a fairly peaceful day. After all, Kreek was still recovering, and he woke up late. Still a bit too weak to fight, but once afternoon came he was back to his usual strength.
"We're fighting that rumour today, eh?" He chuckled.

"Yep." Tanqr nodded. "Guess we're going to Onett Park."
"What preparations might we need? Hyper, can you check? Any preparations?" Ashley turns to him.

"No, I've checked. The only barrier to getting into this rumour and being able to fight it is just ignoring a dead bird. Then the entrance will open." Hyper responds with a nod.
"Well then, we're all ready and geared. Let's go."

On the way there, as they're leaving the complex, they run into Think and BigB, Preston to the side. Well, they don't run into them, but they do happen to see them on the sidewalk. Think is leaning against a fence, eyes closed and with a despaired expression. Ashley decides to listen in to their conversation.

"..It's useless, isn't it, BigB? He's dead, I just know he's dead! It's been too long, plus James is too new to this place and to being a magical girl, there's no way-"

"Think, I know it seems hard, but I promise you. I promise you he's alive. You can't even witch out here in Robloxia, so unless he's been fighting witches on his own, then-"

"What if he went out on his own?"

"And he won't have. You said that James wasn't ready to fight witches on his own, as much as he wanted to."
"That's the thing, since he wanted to, he might've gone out on his own, then-"
"I don't think so. More likely, the Magius just found him and made him join their ranks. The finalists will find him, I'm sure."
"What good can those finalists do?! We barely know them, they don't even know what James looks like! How can you guys trust them wholeheartedly?"
"Look, they helped us get out of the Magius when we couldn't escape on our own. They are good people, promise."
"Sure. Sure they are."
Right. After the first incident that showed many people, including the finalists, how bad the Magius were, BigB and Preston were one of the groups that wanted to leave. However, they got stuck during the main leaving, due to one of their close friends deciding to stay. So the finalists had to sneak them out. Well, Ashley and Kreek had. Tanqr and Hyper were fighting a security witch.

"What made you guys leave so late?" Ashley asked, now they were outside and not being watched. "And why'd you leave, for the record?"
"Well, we left late because- I wanted to see if Ryguy would come with me. But he refused, for some reason, so we had to go alone, but we missed our chance, so we were stuck."

"Ryguy wholeheartedly believes in it, doesn't he?" Kreek asked, but it was rhetorical. "Of course he does."
"He is susceptible to that kind of thing.." BigB adds.
"I just waited for BigB. From the moment Brianna died, and they brushed off her death, saying that it didn't matter because the many would be getting better anyways- I realised then what they were saying was absolute BS. That's when I decided to leave. They're no better than the Incubators. Damn Kyubey.." Preston threw off his Magius hood, letting it get torn up by a bush.
"I'm so sorry."

"Who are they, and why are they talking about us?" Kreek whispered to Ashley, obviously noticing her looking at them.
"Oh, they're a group of people we promised to help." Ashley clarified. "You were unconscious when we met them."
"Oh, okay." Kreek nodded before continuing to walk past.
Ashley knows why Think is so tense. She knows- no, they all know the pain of losing someone dearly close to them. Not just from the events that transpired due to or before their wishes, but someone you, reader, might've wondered where they were, and why I, the author, referred to them as dead.

They all miss Denis, but what happened to him couldn't be helped. It's the inevitable fate of a magical girl.
