Kane POV
"Stacey! I cannot believe this happened to you!" A exclaimed upon me and Stacey explaining what transpired when L, G, and A went hunting.
"We should not have left at all!" L declared, which was followed by me stating that we had to hunt to survive.
"Let's shift gears. What happened with the exploding clouds!?" G asked, which made Stacey lead us outside to the minigun. The gun had melted through the permafrost completely, sitting on harder compacted snow.
"I am not sure, but I think this gun operates on francium-based energizers. Francium reacts VERY BADLY with water, and so the entire area blew apart. Kane soon confirmed that and that the iron barrels have a copper lining, increasing conductivity.
"Good to know both of you have an inventive side. What is francium though?" An asked, to which Stacey and I started introducing them to the concept of Chemistry.
A ton of 'concept of Chemistry' later...
All three disassembly drones looked amazed at what we just taught them. They instantly went onto the roof, leaving me and Stacey alone below them in the base. I went outside to grab my minigun, to try and repair it, and even operate it on a different source of energy.
I grabbed the handle and immediately dropped it when my hand didn't grab the handle correctly. I wondered if I could change out my hand for claws or anything else. I yelled up at the roof, causing A to peek over the edge.
"Hey Kane, what are you yelling for?" A asked, confused.
"Had to get your attention. How exactly do you switch your hands for weapons and stuff?" I asked holding my new hand. A responded that you just have to 'imagine it'. I tried, and my hands suddenly switched to a pair of three sharp claws.
"Hey L and G, come check out Kane's hand!" A yelled, drawing L and G to the edge of the roof.
"Nice!" L cheered as she went back to her experiments. G followed after also congratulating me, finally by A.
"Also, do not make anything explosive! The base front is already blown up, we don't need the roof caving in!" I said as I went over to grab some debris from a nearby building. I decided to try and use the debris to rebuild the storefront. After a ton of cutting, I had finally gotten the desired shape, which was when I found out something interesting. I grabbed the concrete wall with my undamaged hand, and it did not budge, but it moved easily using my other hand. Soon, the section of wall was fitted, earning a clap from Stacey, who had brought a large box inside.
"Hey Kane, I got that AFG from my house! Once I set it up, I can permentantly live here!" Stacey replied, before noticing my new claws. "Nice and shiny!"
"Not for long!" I replied, before heading up to the roof to check on A, L, and G. I made it to the roof, and all three of them were holding a bunch of reflective cylinders. They appeared to be stainless steel, and a nearby furnace also supported that theory.
"Nice job! Is that steel you are holding?" I asked, to which L replied that it was stainless steel.
"That is impressive! So impressive that I am going to teach you about a different type of bond, and how you can open up a whole new range of compounds and chemicals!" I replied, making all three killers excited.
"Say, what exactly are you trying to make?" I asked out of curiosity.
"We want to make more destructive items, that could blow up a door." All three of them answered. Before I could respond, we were called down by Stacey, saying something about 'hacking into some stuff'. The projector was activated, showing the inside of a colony. We were all interested to see a podium in the middle of a conference room, occupied by the Operator, and cameras broadcasting the whole event to every screen in the area.
Operator: "We are proud to declare the creation of a sophisticated task force to capture Kane, with help from other nearby colonies. We shall use him to force those murder drones to surrender, and we will make Copper 9 great again!"
"Who the hell do these people think they are!?" Kane asked, enraged. Before he could rant further, Stacey managed to change the message to something else.
"This is an even dumber motive than the last time. Who said there was only one pod that arrived here? We will not go down that easily." Stacey read as she typed it out, successfully altering the message. Within seconds, the footage was cut completely, and Stacey shut off the projector.
"You know what? We should use that pile of debris over there to add a second floor to this place! If Kane can create a replacement wall, we can create a ceiling and four walls!" A declared, already heading outside. He and L grabbed a wall, while G and I cut out windows for it. In a few minutes, the walls had been prepared and moved to the roof. After ripping off anything on the top, A and G held the walls in place while L and I bolted them together using brackets. We had to compromise and place a few pillars in, but we successfully got a ceiling in place. The actual base did not look that bad, as the windows outshined the colour difference.
"Not bad! Not bad at all!" Stacey congratulated as she went up. The inside was a bit dark, which would clear up soon. Immediately, all of us began setting up tables and other equipment. Soon, what was a destroyed building was a functioning weapons laboratory. One that would probably come in use in the coming days, as tensions rose with that 'taskforce' coming out to capture me. They went from treating me like less than a robot to a idol, then to a tool they can use to save their own lives! Soon, all of us went to our respective beds, said goodnight to each other, and powered off to sleep.
