Oneshot: Five Dreamy Drones

Hey! This is a different sort of a chapter. These are just random events set in the universe but do not contribute to the main plot. I will still be continuing the main plot, but this is a bit of a breather. It is about dreams, and I got this idea from a certain A03 story that I think we all have seen. Happy Reading, as always!

Copper 9 was silent, aside from the colonies. Even the background noise was not there. In a makeshift shelter, four drones and one human were fast asleep.

G's Dream

Nobody could get the car to start. Kane and G were reading through the schematics of the car, and A was underneath the car, trying to detach the engine. L was in the driver's seat, checking the thousands of fuses present in the car. Stacey was sorting through scrap, trying to find some spare parts. Each of them was getting steadily frustrated with the task. When G complained that Stacey was taking forever, he got a muffler as a response. A was fed up with the noise, and tugged on the engine, finally getting it to start. They all finally set off to their destination, until the whole car blew up.

G woke instantly and looked around. Everyone else was completely asleep, and there was no such of the car in the dream. G soon fell asleep next to Kane's bed, the latter of which was also having a dream.

Kane's Dream

Kane awoke in the Base, the whole area in tatters. To his horror, G and L were crushed by a large rock, A had been dismantled, and Stacey was missing. Kane needed to see if Stacey was alive, and got up. He headed outside and saw Stacey dead by a drone. It was not any worker or even a disassembly drone, but something else. It glared at Kane evilly, making him bolt back inside and grab his minigun. He started shooting, but the drone just kept dodging. A heavy snowstorm soon fell on the area, and the area was called covered with snow. Soon, the gun jammed, and the barrels exploded, sending shards of metal into Kane, and exposing the reactive material inside. The area was engulfed with flames, sealing Kane's fate.

Kane immediately shot up and looked around. Everyone was fast asleep, except for G, who appeared to have just gone back to sleep. Kane soon powered off, last seeing A on his back, who was in a dream of his own.

A's Dream

The gang was on the first floor, listening to some mixtapes that Stacey had found. The whole group was enjoying the music, and soon, they hungered for more music. After listing to more mixtapes, Kane posed the idea that we could make our music by ourselves! All three murder drones agreed, and they started experimenting with different beats. They always felt that something was missing, however.

Finally, they had created a banging soundtrack, that all of them loved. Kane had figured out the missing piece, which was lyrics. They listened to their creation, happy with the results. A asked why we stopped at just one song, and that we could probably be a band. Stacey had come back with a set of musical instruments and hooked them all together. They would have started playing, but the speaker that Kane was sitting on proceeded to explode.

A sprung up instantly, looking at Kane immediately. He was alive and well, and asleep. L was also fast asleep, managing a dream herself.

L's Dream

Five switches were all that stood between the five and power to the base. They all had to be flipped a certain way to restore power. Kane flipped the right switch, which A immediately flipped back, proceeding to flip the middle switch. L immediately flipped the original switch, and everything went wrong. After G inverted the positions of every switch, Kane switched what appeared to be two random switches. L immediately inverted the switches beside Kane's, a move that was undone partially by A. Soon, G tackled A for constantly undoing his moves. His leg tripped L, who fell onto Kane, sending both of them on the ground, and flipping the middle switch. G tried to flip the second switch but flipped both the third and the first somehow. L was also trying to get up, but instead set the fifth switch up and set every other switch down. A accidentally flipped the fourth switch up and inverted every other switch. Finally, Kane got his leg free but set every switch to the up position. Everyone just gave up, until Stacey came inside the area, set the switches, and restored power.

L woke up instantly and looked at the lights. They had a blue glow, something that was not helping Stacey's dream.

Stacey's Dream

The gang was on earth, living a great life in the shadows. The three murder drones and Kane were disguised as humans and often went with Stacey to their jobs at an oil refinery. It was a great life, and none of them would trade it for anything at all. Until Stacey's parents and the world found out that Stacey was alive after they had believed to send her twin into space. They only realized the error when her twin asked why they were calling her a random name. They had been searching for Stacey forever, and news of her return was rumoured recently. She was described as 'having four roommates', and outgoing.

The five were discussing renovations when the doorbell rang. Stacey opened the door and was shocked to see her parents barge into the house. When Stacey asked her parents 'why the hell are you barging into my living room after years and years or no contact' they responded that they wanted to take care of their favourite daughter again.

"You got twins, you should take care of BOTH of your children!" Stacey yelled as she tried to force her parents out. Instead, her parents tried to take Stacey out of the house. When that happened, Kane and A went behind her parents, and expertly slit their throats. As they fell, Stacey told them that they were terrible parents and should never have had children. After they died, Stacey hugged the four drones and disposed of the bodies.

Stacey did not wake up and instead fell deeper in her sleep, followed by the other drones. Copper 9 became silent again, and many other drones started dreaming. Clouds covered the base, and snow started falling slowly. It was almost a welcome ending to the chapter.

Almost.
