You had fallen asleep soon after your mother calming you down, but soon woken up to your father coming home, you decided to sneak back out to see why he had come home after such a long time, it was easy to bait the other hellish gods' to letting you out, they didn't care if you died or left. Once you reached the gate, you had to haul yourself up the bone staircase, your power exhausted after you little crying session with your mother, you had taken a dagger with you for protection, wanting it to be a fir fight this time, if you did fight anyone.

you quickly ran through the forest, the soft glow of the Teca kingdom in-between the trees, you slowed to a stop as you heaved for breath, you weren't used to running "princess?" you spun to the familiar voice of Zatz "oh, hey..." you brushed your hair out of your eyes, your exhausted self not remembering to tie it up "what are you doing out here? did your father say you could be out here?" you rolled your eyes "no he doesn't, and I'm out here to see why he was gone" you said with jazz hands a guilty grimace came across his face

"would...would you like me to take you to the Teca kingdom? I can cover for you if we get caught" you smiled "yes, and thank you, Zatz" you smiled as he pulled you onto the skeleton. You arrived much quicker than you would on foot, you got off the cat, looking at the bowing king and queen, the princess between them, you knew this was a ceremony of death, and by the statue of three jaguars, you were shocked, you knew your father wished to be the strongest, but you never thought that he would stoop as low as to kill people around your age

you looked at Zatz as he looked to the three royals with pity, you instead huffed and started to walk forward, much to the quiet protest of Zatz. The princess must have heard you because she turned before getting to their her and into a fighting stance "you daughter of a leopers donkey!" the king and queen quickly turned to see what she was yelling at and pulled out their weapons, you put your hands up and sighed "I come alone and unarmed" you lied through your teeth as the royals looked between each other

"I... I didn't know this was as far as my father was willing to stoop, I'm sorry for your losses, you walked between them and kneeled and the base of the statue, touching the ground, the royals were stunned at your sympathy, but let you finish "I hope that here, and in the great beyond, they are known for their bravery and loyalty to this kingdom" you stood, Maya cough your attention by clearing her throat "why are you sympathizing with us? your father is the one who killed them!" you shook your head, walking to leave, you put your hand on her shoulder "I'm a demi-god, not a monster" you said as you walked back into the darkness of the forest

Zatz looked mildly upset and you mounted the skeleton again, he turned it around and it ran off into the jungle "why did you do that? if she says the wrong thing to the wrong person then your father will find out!" he scolded you as you sat, your head racing with questions as you arrived at the gate "I am a demi-god, Zatz, I feel sympathy for them and their fallen warriors, I cant just tune it out like a god, you should know that!" you sighed with an annoyed tone, his cat jumped through the portal and raced back to your families temple, you had to teleport to your room so you didn't get caught by your parents, you decided that you were going to spy on this princess, watch over her if you will and protect her from your father, you may have been the same age but you were far more skilled in fighting than she was, you could tell.

you gathered some cloths and left your mother and father a note, saying sorry for the betrayal and that you would return once you knew the princess was not in danger, you ate a bit of food before teleporting to the gate, you decided to stay hidden, no thought of what the king and queen would do to you if the princess wasn't there, you quickly teleported to the glowing kingdom and up to the pyramid, you set up camp on top of one of the spires, no one had eyes that good that they could see you from up there. you settled down for the night and stared up at the stars, they were beautiful and soon you lulled to sleep with the stars guiding you
