"This is the last time I'm repeating this. I am not coming with you guys! What if someone catches us? Or what if something dangerous happens to us? This is so scary; I can't, I'm sorry!" I anxiously shouted. I turned around to go back home, but my best friend Meredith caught my wrist and aggressively pushed me closer to her.

She looked at me dead in the eyes and said, "look, we're not young anymore; how are we supposed to explore and discover new stuff if we don't actually get to experience them? I mean you were the one that said that, weren't you?" she paused for a second. "We're going to have so much fun, I promise. Don't be such a coward! I'll be low-key upset if you don't come with us," she winked at me.

I took a deep breath, gave her a little smirk and said, "okay, fine, I'll come. On one condition though; we never separate and we return home by 8pm." My friends sarcastically clapped their hands as they all walked away headed to our destination.

Meredith then turned my way, pushed her body onto mine, hugged me tight and whispered in my ear, "Thank you." I pulled her away gently and smiled at her as we held hands and ran wildly towards our friends.

After about 10 minutes, we reached the house. I walked past this old rusted mid-sized gate and surprisingly examined the house. The walls were so tall, dusty and irregular, full of holes and spider webs, the broken window glass shattered all over the grass; rats and cockroaches casually ran around the house and backyard, wall paint faded, and I thought of how miserable this house looked like. I slowly looked up at the sky and got distracted by the beauty of the grey clouds that perfectly designed the blank black universe hugged by millions and trillions of little sparkles called stars. As I happily enjoyed the view, the sound of my friends' struggle to open the front wood door of the house captured my attention, so I tried my best to capture theirs by saying, "thank God we arrived, that was a very scary road right?" I pointed at the blank road behind me.

"Yeah lol, that was nothing though. Wait until we enter the house," John giggled. I held back my feelings of fear and anxiety, I formed my hands into fists to hold back my sweat from freeing themselves through my skin, I tried to stand steadily with my shaking legs amazed by the weirdness of the house, but then Meredith held my hand and pushed me forward towards the door.

We are now inside the house. What are we going to do? Does someone live here? Is it really haunted? Is a creature going to attack us? Are my parents going to catch me? Omg, it is 6pm already? Am I going to die? All of these awful thoughts roamed my mind. I did not know where to start and what to do. As I daydreamed of all of the horrific scenes that could've happened to us, my friends called my name to join them on the, what they so called "adventure".

I turned my head left and right, and everything was so messy. Tables were turned, chairs were broken, curtains were ripped, cups and plates cracked and thrown on the floor, lifeless flowers lacked in color and beauty, walls damaged, light bulbs busted, lamps broken, and spiders everywhere; it was so pathetic.

After a while we went downstairs, and to our surprise there was nothing. No furniture, nothing. All of my friends looked at each other in shock; questioned how suspicious the emptiness looked like. As we walked here and there, I realized a photo in the corner of my eye. I turned its way, and came closer to it. I was so scared, but my curiosity never failed to make me do things that I shouldn't do. I took the photo off of the hanger, and richly investigated it, but it was so hard to see the faces displayed on this oddly disgusting sheet of paper because of the dark room we were in, so I pulled out my phone from my pocket and turned the light towards the picture, and there I saw a charming young couple dressed up, and all fancy holding their wine glasses up high with enormous smiles on their faces.
