Chapter 4 wolves and men

I woke up and packed. Today was the third or fourth day. I was almost halfway to the Base! I jumped into my horses back and clicked my tongue
It pranced away and onto the path...

I heard hooves behind me and I quickly hid me and my horse in the bushes. I looked over and saw two army guys walk over to where I was hiding. Shi- I'm so caught. I tried to hide but they had followed the hoof prints from my Midnight and tracked me into the bushes.

" There you are! We've been trying to find you for days now" a guy younger then me said. He had bleach blind hair and green eyes. He was the one with the younger voice I had heard in the woods

" Mother fucking horse print I swear to go-" the begining of the angry rant was cut off by the other dude. He was my age with black hair and piercing blue eyes, unlike my one blue eye and one green one. I have black/red hair.

"Wow. Didn't know a princess could say that. Anyways we better get moving." He said as I clicked my tongue and my horse pranced up.

" You guys better not plan on taking me back to that damned castle and planned weddings" I said staring them down as we mounted our horses.

" Why would we take you back? C'mon now let's get going before dark. We still have a-" the younger boy was cut off by the wolf pack emerging from the brush. Hm I thought I heard something earlier.

The older boy took out his bow and was about to shoot. I yelled for him to stop. The boys looked at me like I was mad.

I rummaged through the saddle and pulled out two dead squirrels that I had shot earlier. The pack yelped and barked happily. I threw the meat to them and they ate at it.

"Well that was-"

"Unexpected to say the least."

"C'mon let's go." I said taking the lead with my horse as we followed the path," oh by the way I'm Evelinie" I said

"No sh- I mean, I'm asher and that's Ben" the younger boy said.

" Nice to meet yall." I said as we rode on in silence. It was getting darker by the second, we needed to find a place to sleep. I saw a nicely covered area with pine trees surrounding it.

"Let's stop here, it's gonna be to dark to travel soon and I don't want to circle back around to find a place to camp." I said stoping. They followed suit and we dismounted.our horses and tied them to a tree.

" I'll get the tent." I said pulling out mine and setting it up, I turned around and saw the guys looking at me. "What?"

"You brought a tent?" Ben asked

" Well of course I did. Who wants too be caught out in the rain without shelter." I answered him.

" Well we're going to sleep outside thanks for the offer." Asher said starting a fire.

" Okay but it's gonna rain soon" I said " I'll be right back, I'm gonna see if I can find some fresh meat." I said, and not waiting for a response I walked into the woods barefoot to make less noise. I notched my bow and proceeded to lay down. Not five minutes had passed by before I spotted a squirrel.

I shot it straight through the eye. That would probably be enough for us if we weren't to greedy. I walked back to the camp, squirrel held high as if it were a prize.

"Nice kill, I'll sling it you get the goods out" Asher said taking the squirrel from me and waking back out into the woods. I pulled out a pan and also a bread dish. I poured out a measured amount of water into the bread pan. I then dumped some of the bread mixture in and stirred it with my knife.

I had really been craving bread, so I caved and made some. I out it onto the fire, so that hopefully when the squirrel was done it would be too

" Best dinner ever" Asher said as he finished of his bread.

" Points to the chef" Ben added

" Thanks." I said as I chewed on the bit of squirrel bone so I could get the rest of the meat of off it. I was still hungry, I was hoping that is would be because I was getting taller, I was only 5'3 and my besties all called me half pint.

" Imma go to sleep now. G'night." I said heading into the nicely sized tent.

" Night princess." Ben said

I was being tortured. Whips striking my back countless times. I felt a clamy hand grasp min and I looked over to find green eyes starting at me. I gripped the hand as we got wiped. Soon they got out a knife and started cutting me

" Where did you find it?" A voice asked

" I'll never tell you" I spat

The knife stopped me

I was awoken from my dream by the sound of rain on the tent roof. I picked my head out and saw the guys shivering under a tree. I picked my head out

" C'mon guys you'll catch a cold. Get your butts in here" I said and watched as relief showed on there faces as they sprinted in and closed zipped the tent closed. I payed back down and soon felt them lay down next to me, squishing me in the middle. I giggled and shoved Ben's shoulder over a bit so I could breath.

Something about these boys made me feel like I'd known them for my whole life. I felt safe and secure and in no danger at all even though we were all sleeping together. I closed my eyes and drifted off

Waddup! It's your great author returned from the dead to bring you another story. Jk. Sorry I didnt update sooner. We had Xmas and then new years, we always go up to my grandparents the day after Xmas and they gave SERIOUSLY spotty wifi. Anyways I hope you like. It will get better soon I swear. Also any suggestions and constructive criticism would be nice. Love y'all
