Dave has a dream about Bro and him fighting, he jerks up yelling "STOP. Karkat who was cuddling sits up, and is in confusion. Dave had tears running down his face, his breath became hard; putting his hands to the side of his head and tugging on his hair. He pulled his knees up to his chest and freaked out. "It was a dream..?" He paused. "I-It felt so real." Karkat put a hand on Dave's shoulder, causing him to jerk and fall off the bed entirely. "Kar,, not now, okay?" Karkat's eyes widened with concern as he put his hand back on the bed. "Alright." His voice croaked in utter worry. Dave took a minute to relax before standing up. "I need to go..." he looked over to the bathroom and walked in, stripping down and looking in the mirror above the sink. "I'll never be able to defeat him., even if I could if I ever tried my mind would get to me. I want to fucking be stronger." His hand slammed against the mirror causing it to shatter, the glass cutting up part of his hand and Karkat ran it. "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED, DAVE ARE YOU OKAY?" He quickly ran over as Dave winced opening and closing his hand. "I'll be alright Karkles, I can clean this up later after I take a shower and patch my own hand up, promise." Karkat backed off. Dave gave him a soft smile. "FINE. JUST DON'T MAKE STUPID CHOICES ANYMORE, OKAY?" The small cherry blooded troll stormed off, shutting the bathroom door as he left. "Ow." Dave finally let out. "Karkat was right, that was stupid." He grabbed his hand and walked into the shower. He let the water pour onto his hand, picking out each glass piece, tears filled his eyes from the pain, one after another. After a moment of doing so, his hand relaxed. He finally walked underneath the water, his head first down to his feet covered and soaked in the hot water. "Goddamnit I miss you Bro." He sighed. "Though I am fucking glad you're dead." He looked up from the ground and at the wall in front of him; punching it. "I hated you."
After 30 minutes of showering and relaxing himself, Dave got out of the shower wrapping a towel around his waist. He started to mess with his hair as he got out of the bathroom. Dave looked around the room to see no one. "Kar?" He spoke. Turning around he realized the glass had been cleaned up; or well., the mirror wasn't broken either? Did he clean it or what happened. He shrugged it off and grabbed his clothes, throwing them on he walked out to the scent of a nice freshly cooked breakfast. He turned the corner to the kitchen. "Hey Karkat, when did you get good at-..." He paused as his mouth widened. "B-Bro!?" He gasped, tears left his eyes as he ran up to the taller, (handsome), man, and hugged him. "Oh my fucking God, I didn't think I would ever see you again. I thought you died..." He paused. "Wait,, you did die though. How are you alive?" He turned his head up to the other, who looked as if he were his dead brother; He let go. "I am your brother Dave, just reincarnated, or I should say, back in time." Dave's eyes widened. "Back in time!? The hell do you mean by that." The other chuckled. "My name is Dirk. The only reason I went by Bro is because I didn't want you to truly know my name. Your boyfriend over there,," Dirk got cut off. "I AM NOT HIS BOYFRIEND." Karkat slammed his hands, against the table in front of him, standing from the chair. His face had gotten completely red, almost like his blood. Dave started to laugh almost falling to the floor. "I would love to believe you aren't, but with that face I would assume you are. Anyways, your boyfriend here brought me over, after finding me; during your thirty fucking minute shower!" He teased. Dave rolled his eyes. "So? Oh wait, is little Karky getting his ass all prissy over me taking such long showers and being away from him for such a long time?" Karkat walked to both Dave and his room slamming the door. "IM TAKING THAT AS A YES." Dave yelled out. "FUCK YOU DAVID." Karkat yelled back. "Like you haven't yet"
"So, wanna ask any questions for your dear ol' brother?" Dirk turned over, with a menacing glare. "Yeah. I would actually." Dave gave the same glare back. "How the fuck did you get back, and why." He quickly grabbed the pocket knife from his pocket and held it to Dirks throat. "Plus, who are you? I wouldn't believe you are a 'reincarnation' of my old man." Dirk grinned. "You're smart, but oh so stupid aren't you, David. Listen man, I just wanted to see you." He sighed. "Ever since I was forced into the pitiful darkness of death itself, I had missed you dearly. I wanted to apologize for everything that had happened, and everything that I've ever done to you." Through his glasses, tears rolled down, with a big grin he held his arms out for a hug. Slowly Dave let the knife down from the taller ones throat, and sighed. "It's fine. Just know I'll always hate you." Dirk frowned, putting his arms down. "That's fine with me, I never said you had to forgive me." His tears stopped, and his smile grew. "It's just nice to be able to see you." He quickly turned back to his cooking, and continued on. "You may wanna get your boyfriend, I have been making breakfast for both of you." Dave turned, and ran up the stairs. Opening the door to Karkat being cuddled up in a blanket that has a heater inside. "ITS FUCKING COLD." Karkat whined. "Oh, I didn't even realize." Dave teased, he sat next to Karkat and realized., that 'blanket' is his scarf; His big, fluffy, red scarf. "Great." He thought out-loud. "WHAT!?" Karkat spoke. "Nothin Kar, just come here." "AND WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I?" Just then the blonde haired male pulled the troll close to him in a warm embrace of love. It had felt as if a bubble was holding them in the sky. Karkat puffed with Dave messing with his hair, both relaxed and completely forgot about life. Quickly Karkat fell asleep, along with Dave. Back with Dirk, he knew that would happen, in which why he didn't start the other two's breakfast just then. "Just like always. Huh Dave. You've always been like this." Dirk then smiled and started to laugh softly.
"I love you, Bro." Dave mumbled quietly, as Dirk came in. "I love you to Dave." Dirk walked over and gave Dave a soft kiss upon his head. A moment later, his entire body is swept away by wind into dust and emptiness. He just needed one thing to fully move on, and apologizing and an 'I love you' was all it took. Dave's eyes closed soon and drifted off into his deep sleep, cuddling close to his small cherry blooded Troll, the room growing silent, not a single sound to ruin this moment.
The next morning, Dave woken up before Karkat has. He took a quick stretch and looked over at his partner. "Another new day, huh." He stood up and walked downstairs. The scent of Dirk has completely vanished. "Was it a dream?" Just then certain things seemed to have evaporated into thin air. "What the fuck is going on!?" Dave yelled. He quickly ran back up stairs, to see his beloved gone. "What the hell is going on." He spoke before turning around. Karkat was in the air, looking possessed like. "Dave." He paused. "You had betrayed me more than any other had." Once Dave had looked around, he has a sword at hand, and dead bodies all around. The area below wasn't the house anymore, it was a battle field. "What the fuck is happening..?" He looked at Karkat just before getting hit directly in the chest sending him flying into a wall. He hit and fell to the ground, gripping the armor now put upon him. "W-What the fuck." He paused. Wincing he cried out with pain. He spat out blood as Karkat laughed. "And people told me you were more. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A JOKE." His voice taunted and ran all throughout Dave's head. "You're not Karkat." He stood up, struggling to stand. "K-Karkat would never be like this." He took a deep breath. Just then everything went black as he woke from a deep slumber. In the hospital the heart monitor beeped. He lies in the white bed. His breathing becomes slower, Karkat rushed into the room. "DAVE HOLY SHIT." He ran over. "GODDAMNIT YOU'RE OKAY." Dave turned over. "What happened?" Karkat pulled him close into his arms. "AFTER YOU HIT THE GLASS YOU COMPLETELY COLLAPSED!" He yelled with worry and anger running through. "YOU FUCKING IDIOT." A whine came about before his voice trailed off. "Y-You..." Tears clogged his throat. "You could've gotten h-hurt worse Dave." He croaked. "I passed out? I remember cuddling you close in bed and Bro being alive and.,, That was a dream?" He whined. "NONE OF THAT HAPPENED, THE ONLY 'CUDDLING' WE DID WAS WHEN KANAYA WAS-"
"-DRIVING OUR ASSES HERE." He sighed. "I'm sorry Kar. I didn't mean to scare you." Dave pushed Karkat away, gripping onto the hospital gown, tears filled his own. "I just,, I thought it was real. I would love to see him again..." He croaked, sobbing. The tears hitting the sheets quieted the room, besides the sniffling and the hummingbirds of the morning sun rising.
He took a second to breathe and calm himself down before Karkat hugged Dave tightly. His arms wrapped around the other in a warm, fluffy embrace. "DON'T APOLOGIZE." He growled.
