In the late 1600's, two towns were made; named Jamestown and Plymouth. Over a thousand people lived in both towns. There are many hardships that came throughout both. That includes: Disease, Lack of food, lack of water, or the loss of people. Not just death of people, but many started going missing. Many of the diseases hadn't had a cure until way later in the 1800's.
On the other hand, the Mayflower is a voyage which was sent out on November 11, 1620. After two months (66 days), Many Pilgrims arrived at Cape Cod. Only 53 passengers and half the crew survived. 19 women who boarded the Mayflower, only 5 survived through the cold, and harsh disease. In total 45 of the 120 died in the winter of 1620-1621.
One of the many passengers named, John Howland, who was in his teenage years, had fallen off the Mayflower in 1620. His life was written in detail by the illustrator P.J. Lynch.
To this day, the Mayflower II still exists as long as Jamestown and Plymouth do as well. The Mayflower is undergoing a multi-year restoration Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard at Mystic Seaport. The restoration of a 60 year old wooden ship was carried out and was scheduled to finish in 2019.
