It was the wedding day. It was not just the day where the groom ties three knots to the bride. But it was the day where two made for each other souls are going to be tied until the end of eternity. It was the confluence of Raman and Vaidehi, as happened in Tretha yuga.

Pendal made of coconut tree leaf, mango leaf swags, whole venue was filled with the fragrance of Mysore Mallige(Jasmine), heavenly rhythm of Nadaswaram and Thavil  and extraordinary decor of the same wedding hall where they met for the first time, made the wedding no less to any royal one.

Vaidehi was dressed with White color and red border Kanchipuram silk sari with Brahmin style jewelry Netti Bottu (a distinctive Maang Tikka), Muthina Vole Jhimki (earrings), Layered necklaces - Pathak, Kokkethathi, Jomala, Gold Saras ;Heavy bangles and antique kadagas, Kaippelli - Haath Phool ,Rings and Anklets. Moggina jade to her long hair added the charm. She was looking like a queen.

At the same time she was anxious and excited as well. She was very much shy. No girls were talking to her as usual. Aaradhya was the only girl to talk to her. She also was present in her room. She was continuously teasing her, for which she immensely blushed.

She also couldn't take that she will be separated from her parents and will go her in-laws, this thought sickened her.

Here Raman was very badly waiting to see his bride and soon to be wife Vaidehi. He was excited as well. He couldn't believe his rendezvous with his love. He was doing some pre wedding rituals. He was looking stunning with veshti which is made of silk, with a bright border and a kurta over it with an angostram. A beautiful Mysore Peta(Turban) completed his groom look.

All the pre wedding rituals were over including Mangala snana( Holy Bath), Vara Pooje and Kashi Yatre. He was performing last one, Mangalya Pooje. At the same time, other side Vaidehi was performing Gouri Pooja.

All the pre wedding rituals were over, at the auspicious time Vaidehi was brought to the Mantapa. They made them to exchange garlands. Their eyes met, as usual Vaidehi lowered her gaze but this time blushing.

Kanyadhana was performed. Raman tied Mangalsutra to Vaidehi after chanting of hymns. Finally Vaidehi became Mrs. Vaidehi Raman Rao from Ms. Vaidehi Joshi. He was also very much overwhelmed and felt blessed to have her has his wife. Tears of mixed emotions continuously fell from her eyes.

They took seven vows around holy fire, Raman put her toe ring. They promised that only death can make them apart and both meant it from the bottom of the heart. As per the instructions of the priest they both saw Arundati Nakshatra.

In one of the rituals of a Hindu marriage, the groom shows the bride the double stars of Vasishtha and Arundhati as an ideal couple, symbolic of marital fulfillment and loyalty. The couples are asked to look up the constellation symbolizing conjugal love and affection.

Finally it was the time for farewell to Vaidehi from her parents. Her father and mother were in tears. The newly wedded couple took the blessings first from Raman's parents. His mother kissed her forehead and said "I got a daughter from today, from today Raman is not just your husband he is also your son. Take care of him. He is a man of anger, never leave him Vaidehi."

For which Vaidehi nodded her head with tears in her eyes. Next they went to her parents to seek blessings. Her father folded his hand in front of Raman and said " Please take care of her Raman. She don't know the word pain. I am hand hovering my breath to you" to which Raman parted his folded hands and said " Sure Mava, now she is my breath and world too", her mother hugged her tightly, sobbed and said " Don't worry about me and your Pappa, take care of your new family and stay happy"

Everyone slowly left after having lunch. Soon Raman's parents too left. Only Raman and Vaidehi were left to leave. Emotionally she left the place biding bye to her parents with her husband.

Raman held her hands. They sat in the decorated car. Tears of separation continuously fell from her eyes. He didn't stop it. It's very natural, for a girl leaving her parents and becoming fit into a stranger family is always extremely difficult.

Half an hour drive from wedding hall to his home was very silent. They both never talked to each other since their marriage was fixed. Always there was an awkward silence between them, though they loved each other. But it was unknown to each other.

They reached his home. Vaidehi was shocked to see such a huge bungalow for the first time. All her life she spent in a 2BHK small home, only seen such bungalows in movies.  She was welcomed traditionally by aarthi from his mother and she was asked to push a Kalas filled with rice and a piece of jaggery placed over it from her right leg.

She was asked to light the deepas in the pooja room. After all the post wedding rituals, his mother asked her to rest in the guest room. None of his side relatives talked with her. They were extremely jealous about her, except his maternal aunt. Everyone saw her as a piece of trash and didn't talk with her. But all pretended to be happy in front of his parents.

She didn't notice it or may be it didn't make any difference to her. She has got used to such cold shoulders.  Raman went to his friends gathered in the other room, teasing him for finally getting married. Soon it became late evening, all the relatives left, after having dinner. Raman and Vaidehi too had their dinner together and left for respective rooms.

All his friends too left giving him a naughty smile. His maternal aunt Rukmini came to the guest room where Vaidehi was present. She said to Vaidehi smilingly and placing a red georgette sari on the bed " Vaidehi, go ma.. go and take a quick bath. I myself will make you ready" to which she was confused, but his aunt understood and said smilingly " It's your wedding night, so". To which she nodded nervously and left for bath taking the sari.
