Ch 1: Daddy's Girl (Part 3)

The next morning Luca had Harry wake the both of them up and the three of them headed off on a four-hour plane ride down to Pearl Beach from Emerald City. In the jet, Luca chatted with Lola about Matteo and who he was. But it was obvious Lola wasn't listening, she had been moody all morning because Lexi had to sleep in the other room. Lola crossed her legs wearing a light pink dress with matching shoes. She stared openly at the alpha woman sitting across from her. Lexi flipped through a magazine quietly surely feeling the holes Lola was drilling into her.

"So Emilio told me that Matteo won the junior boxing award before he graduated from high school." Luca spoke, "Is that so?" Lola replied, "I once watched Lexi take out six guys with nothing but a skillet and a meat tenderizer." Lola replied, Lexi perked up hearing her name. "Lex. I told you not to kill in front of Lola." Luca scolded, "She didn't Daddy. That weirdo Johnny Falco made me watch a live feed thinking that they were going to take her out." Lola defended Lexi.

Luca puffed out air from his lips still displeased. "I guess that can't be helped then." He grumbled, "Just try to make it less graphic if something comes up like that again." He added, "Yes sir?" Lexi replied not even sure about why she had been pulled into the conversation. She looked over at Lola looking confused, Lola getting the message spoke up. "Daddy was telling me about Matteo being a junior boxing award winner," Lola informed her, Lexi tilted her head and scoffed.

"Okay." She looked amused, "Got something to say, Lex?" Luca asked, "Nothing sir. It's just... It's not that hard to get that award." Lexi couldn't help herself. Luca smirked challengingly, "You got any awards?" He pressed, "I won the Emerald City underground tournament in both male and female alpha classes." Lexi looked down at her magazine again. She heard Luca cough choking on his spit when he heard that.

"When was this?!" He exclaimed, "When I first won it or the last time I won?" Lexi looked back up, Lola perked up interested. "Both!" Both father and daughter spoke. "Last time I won was earlier this year, the first time I won was after I graduated high school. I keep trying to quit but because I hold the belt they keep making me go back." Lexi shifted a bit looked back at her magazine once more. "You're a titleholder?! You never told me that!" Lola exclaimed her eyes sparkling, "I tried once but you didn't seem interested." Lexi replied turning the page.

Lola leaned back and frowned, "Was I caught up with something?" She asked searching her mind, it wasn't like her to ignore Lexi like that. "Bethany was dealing with her childhood dog dying. So you were caught up with comforting her." Lexi replied. "Oh... Oh! That's why you took two personal days!" Lola exclaimed before sighing, "Poor Bettie was a mess." She remarked, Luca slammed his fist down on the arm of his seat, "Well why the hell didn't you tell me?!" Luca jumped into the conversation, "I could've placed some bets on you!"

Lexi looked up surprised that Luca was actually interested in something about her. "I honestly didn't think to sir." She said sheepishly, "Also, I already had Harry making bets on me so..." She added trailing off. "That's why the scrawny bastard was flush with cash!" Luca raged. "Well he spent it all on his rock collection so..." Lexi shrugged. Harry, Lola's butler, was a beta man who collected rocks and precious jewels and gems. It wasn't unusual for a beta to have a collection, most did. But Harry's hoard was a bit more expensive than most other betas.

"This explains so much about you! You're a fucking animal, Lex!" Luca cackled amused, "Hey the lord didn't give me brains but I've got the brawn to make up for it." Lexi joked. "Any other fighting?" Luca questioned, "I used to do a ton of bare-knuckles matches as a kid. Kept me and some of the other kids from the neighborhood fed." Lexi said finally reaching the end of the magazine. "Got the shit kicked out of me more than once," Lexi added closing her eyes for a moment. There was a small smile on her face as if she was remembering something good.
