Night drifted later and although she grew tired Aurora knew eventually Xavier would come. Crawling into the backseat Aurora curled into a semi ball formation and tired to find rest.
It was the sun that woke her. The stiff bones and body followed. Wondering what time it was she pressed the button on the car which brought up auxiliary power. It was merely six forty-nine in the morning.
Realization setting in that she was alone. Xavier had not found her. Was he okay the thought pounded through her as the full extent of what they came back to last night set in.
Trying to keep her thoughts rationale she reason that he could not locate her because of where she ended up. No idea where Eliza lived or how to get there. Last night was her first time driving a car.
The thought came around again. Xavier, was he okay?
The loud knock on the window scared her. Jumping Aurora looked over to see a uniformed body. The head was cut off by the roof of the car. The dark uniform looked almost black with a multitude of badges.
The tap came again and she noticed they did so with a round metal object. It was quite thick.
Everything in her wanted to sink further into the backseat. The round face lowered down and made eye contact. Knowing at this point she needed to do something.
Aurora is unaware this is an officer. The societal procedure beyond her. This only causing the officers frustration and her further fear.
By the end of the situation there were four squad cars and a broken window. Detained and at the station, Aurora has nothing they ask for. Giving her name as they ask all that the search brings is her birth record, no pictures, no school records, driving abstract or anything else someone of her age should have.
Baffled the detective who had been handling her case since she came in ask her who they could call to clarify. He had introduced himself as Mr. Ben Steels. Being that he was much calmer and nicer than those who brought her in she found some ease in this foreign territory.
"Xavier Black" she gave in a gasp. Hope high he would come.
The change in Bens face told a story of knowing. "Are you sure you're okay?" he started to interrogate. "Do you have any family we can call?" he looks concerned. "What about your parents? Charity and Jayme? He questions further.
Fear gripping Aurora that they may call Jayme and alert him to her where abouts.
"Eliza Malone" Aurora blurted. The cop was surprised this was her choice and felt something deeper to this. These people were connected with notorious criminal rings in their city. He worried for her safety to say the least.
"I will call her in right away" he left her a moment to make said call.
Aurora looked around it was a bare and lonely place. The walls looked to be concrete and made her feel cold in the warm climate. Putting her head on the table she just really wanted this to all be over.
It was hours later when Ben Steel returned with Eliza Malone. Going through a interview and integration with her he had got a story from her. That is all he would call it, saying to be best friends with this girls missing mother. It all seemed odd but he had nothing to hold either the girl or Mrs. Malone on.
Waking Aurora as they entered it felt much shorter than the hours it had been for her. Groggy she came too seeing Eliza, joy spread over her and she actually lunged towards the recovery women. Taking the forceful hug with no more than a sharp inhale and almost inaudible 'Sss'. The bullet causing more havoc on her system then she'll ever admit.
