Aurora was breathless, shocked and confused. Left huffing against the wall without a wit in her head. Looking to Shawn who was staring down to his feet, refusing to look at her. What the hell was that? Aurora was spinning in thought when Eliza voice brought her back.
"What happened here?" she was looking from Shawn to Aurora and back between the two. Aurora was curious as to what she meant, had she seen her own reflection she would understand. Her hair a ruffled and chaotic mess, her clothes showed obvious signs of what had happened and her cheeks and breathing were still not back to normal.
Shawn came to the assumed conclusion of Eliza quickly, she had thought that he had caused this look Aurora wore. Eliza was shooting daggers and Aurora wore her signature deer in headlights look. As much as he would love to be the one to leave her breathless and wanting, he would not take any heat for Xavier Wolfe.
"Mr. Wolfe paid her a visit" Shawn said matter of factly. Eliza's face lit up, Shawn had expected as much would happen.
"Oh good, good" her chipper tone returned and she walked over to Aurora and fixed her shirt and hair. A blush crept over her face once she realized what Eliza had been referring too.
Grabbing her hand Eliza pulled her out the front door and into the waiting car. Aurora noted another vehicle parked and running as well but it was different as it was not enclosed or as roomy. It was white and the body was attached to the roof by four bars. There were only two seats and than open storage in the back, Aurora looked at it dumbfounded as to what's it's use may be.
"That is a golf cart" Eliza answered Aurora thoughts and pulled her into the waiting car. It appeared to be the same one the brothers had rode in the other night. The inside was the same jet black as the outside, the seats were cool smooth leather. There was a ton of leg room, way more than she could ever use. Shawn and Cody got into the front after Eliza and Aurora were both seated.
Looking out the window as they took off, she was glad they were not tinted like the other vehicle. It was a beautiful day, the sun shining brightly down. She could see the huge yard as they were leaving the gate, it seemed to go on and on. She needed to clear her head, figure out what the hell had just happened. Her body betrayed her, it wanted him, his touch; it was longing for it.
Unlike her home with Jayme this had other homes around, they were not close but the lawns were manicured and fences touched. A sidewalk spread both sides of the street. Whereas we lived on a dead-end road that was covered in rocks. No neighbors nearby unless you were up for a hike. Aurora looked all around out her window, trying to take all this new in. Her books and shows made it easier to imagine but looking at the real thing as trees and people pass by was unforgettable.
They were about three lots down when a black van caught her eye, it had some logo sketched across the side. There were men dressed in orange overalls, there was a large yellow X on their chest and back. Aurora assumed workers but she'd just never seen such outfits, they were huddled together obviously hard at work.
Almost immediately after she saw a black SUV, it reminded her of the one she rode in the night she met all these people. It was tucked in between some cars parked along the street but she could see it had occupants as they neared it. The driver staring aggressively towards the huddled workers in front of them, the passenger talking into a phone.
Almost like the world slowed down as they passed, she slowly looked into the passenger's window he turned meeting her gaze. It was slow and quick all at the same time. His orangey ruffled hair, golden piecing eyes and parted lips burned into her minds eye. She swore she saw a smile cross his lips as he pinned her down with his stare.
"Colton, Colton did you hear me" The receiver buzzed into Colton's ear. The tropical blue eyes holding his stare, the wide look and gasp he could see through the windows. Her plump lips parting on the inhale and just like that gone. Swept away in no other than a Malone car! Anger built as the man on the other end called his name again. "Whatever James, I just want the Malone on their knees tonight" his tone dry and curt. "I just saw the perfect celebration prize too" he hung up the phone looking to his driver. "I want the execution seamless, tell everyone to be ready by 8pm". The driver gave a nod pulling out from their spot and heading away from the car holding Aurora. Pressing his finger into his ear he gave a command "Redhawk to go at 0-800".
